It's a bit funny to see you post pictures of places I'm intimately familiar with...the bridge and the signs in the first two photos are things I drive past regularly.
It is located at a shopping centre near my place in Moscow, and I honestly doubt that the store owner knows what it means. Or that they intended to put that letter there to begin with - they were probably going for "o" or "a", not "u"
I'm still following Interstate 40 across the country, and something odd I noticed about Memphis: It has very few water towers, and no big water tanks. Turns out they get their water from a distributed artesian well system, much like a rural community would.

Yeah. I assume most of the water storage they have is in underground reservoirs; there's nothing of the sort marked on the topographical maps, so it's just a guess.
Also, MLGW's logo reminds me of the logo for the Newport News Waterworks:

That neon McDonald's sign looks straight out of the 1990s...I like it.

I don't actually have anything to say about the last dozen or so pictures because I was actually there...weird.
In addition to Lenin, there are Marx and Engels (I have difficulty telling which is which) staring down on passersbuy from a building opposite of my workplace.
More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
CA those pictures are all of the real world!!!! :o It is strange to imagine people from the internet walking around in mundane, advertisement-plastered, people-flooded Real Life.
I think I noticed the Fifth Third Bank in that ghost-traffic-light photo qucker than I noticed the poles and wires. (5/3 is a customer at work, which is probably why.)

I'll admit
Seeing the pictures from the day you went home makes me sad
That said, it's neat to see parts of CMH I've never been in

Some stuff, mostly traffic signs, from today, 1 August 2013:
ODOT's been replacing many overhead button copy signs with new retroreflective signs lately. Here are a few from I-270 NB which replaced signs from 1995 or so:

The Kroger nearest my house is in the process of being remodeled, presumably to receive the chain's new 2012 look (which can be seen in a set Anonus posted earlier on this page).
Dairy case, with 2006 "Butter & Eggs" sign. Much of the work that's been done so far has been removal of the existing decor (including the drop ceilings), but they've thoughtfully left most of the signage intact.

Heh, spent so much time putting together that post that you snuck in a response to my previous one before I posted.

You gotta love how it's called that despite the cabins very clearly being patterned on tipis

Also, I just noticed all the cars parked around are from the 1950s and 1960s

Since this seems to be our unofficial Google Maps Sightings thread:

I admit, I always find it a little depressing when I find a former rail alignment while poking around the map.
Though there is a consolation in that many of them, at least in rural areas, seem to be very well-preserved as multi-use trails.

Admittedly, the new lettering strikes me as a bit "retro" somehow...
