I believe that is EQ shenanigans; it has been some time so I forget exactly how to accomplish the "thin" sound but I think that is basically silencing the low frequencies so only the high frequencies come through.

sounds like a high pass filter to me, could be a band pass one though?

Those are probably a better way to do the same thing. Band pass only lets frequencies out within a certain range and high pass has only a low cutoff point.

EQ shenanigans isn't my musical forte, but Naney sounds right.

I should mess around with high pass for once. Usually just mess with low pass.
