    THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
Like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure this is all stuff we were insulated from in the US, either due to it looking bad for the Reagan administration (there was pretty much a Third Red Scare in the early 1980s, mind), or it just not being pertinent to us. Then again, I was also a kid when most of this was happening, so it's entirely possible i just don't remember most of it.

Yeah, it's a bit more relevant in Britain because even now, her policies live on through our current government.

    Oh, I totally hate her.

That ferrous lady is contributed to Gaelic staying a dying language.

Okay, ghost of Thatcher, I was rather indifferent before, but now, it's personal.

    Now, I'm personally indifferent.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
The first female prime minister of Britain the U.K. whatever it is

    was anti-feminist

this kind of thing always bothers me

And yet people still think feminists should look up to her. Hell no.
  • Yeah, it's a bit more relevant in Britain because even now, her policies live on through our current government.

Yeah, but I mean, celebrating her death, really isn't even in the same spectrum as trying to root out the evil she's done.

From what I understand, she really wasn't doing anything recent. or am I wrong in hearing she was retired from politics already.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”

Yeah, that was kind of a thing with right-wingers, and to some extent it still is. Consider how many little languages in places like France, Japan and Italy have been driven near to extinction by official refusal to recognise them, only surviving due either to local tenacity or pop culture relevance (Breton rock musicians, etc.).

    BEEFCAKE
I'm having my cake and eating it.

^^  Ah, a lack of consensus by the media, what a surprise.
  • "It is a matter of grave importance that Fairy tales should be respected.... Whosoever alters them to suit his own opinions, whatever they are, is guilty, to our thinking, of an act of presumption, and appropriates to himself what does not belong to him." -- Charles Dickens

I hate how half a country hates all authorities who aren't from their political party.

Can Britain give the Prime Minister's power back to the Queen?

This isn't a partisanship issue. This is a "Margaret Thatcher was an objectively terrible person" issue.
  • Still, isn't it kind of immature to be all "LOL SHE'S DEAD HAHA ISN'T SOMEONE DYING IN A HORRIBLE WAY HILARIOUS" just because she did things you disagree with? I know, I know, she was a horrible person, but have some respect.

Well if it's objective, why not send anyone who voted for her to a reeducation camp?

I cannot respect a woman whose actions lead to the deaths of so many. She consistently showed an utmost lack of compassion for her fellow man, and thus, I do not see why she should be granted any.

Thatcher never won the popular vote.

Because you're a better person than her.
  • there's quite a bit of moral space between gravedancing and being margaret thatcher.

So what? That doesn't mean gravedancing is good. If you wanted to celebrate her death, you should've done it when she stopped participating in politics.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    She's dead, HAW HAW! :D :D :D

You see, that's the thing. Her policies have had a lasting effect on the British government.

I think that supporting Thatcher's policies would be more expeditious to that purpose. Having a stock portfolio with investments in third-world dictatorships doesn't hurt, either.

I know, it's just that...how the fuck do you think monarchy is the solution to political gravedancing?
  • the thatcher Issue is Very Partisan.

The King/Queen can declare "No man shalt gravedance, or they shall be executed!"
