The lack of alien related activity disappoints me. That, or they quit visiting us the moment they started to notice that farmers were fucking the cows they were trying to abduct, and that Liz Vicious' porn is extremely lackluster, or all those people that I think are lying ARE telling the truth and some faction out there totally ruined our chances of being able to listen to space music or watch space movies with other lifeforms.

For some reason, I want aliens to be real just so I can see what kind of art, music and movies they have.

ditto. I can't help but imagine their culture(s) being very rich. It sort of bugs me how when people imagine aliens, it's always one bland type of alien that all act the same and aren't diverse at all.

No, she's a legitimate wiccan. She's even qualified to do various wiccan rights (I want to call her a "priestess" but that's wrong, I forget their term for it) such as a wiccan baptism or marriage.

To be honest, unless there are certain predetermined patterns for how society emerges in all lifeforms (which is possible, we have no reference and won't know until we do), alien art of any kind would likely be totally incomprehensible to us.

She's not a "priest", she's more the equivalent of like a deacon.

As an Art Minor I have to say my Comprehension Skill should be adequate in interpreting things. Like, light art. To others it's "hey look, it's LEDs, what do they mean".

Actually now that I think about it I still have trouble finding true interpretation, whatever true interpretation is.

Things like insects though have incredible visual ranges.

i think it's something more primal than that, coded into our genes.

Spiders and snakes are the most common animal phobias; they're also the most common animals that are (potentially) very dangerous to us, but aren't intrinsically large and scary looking. i'd be very surprised if this was a coincidence.

Shark attacks on people are rare. We aren't their natural prey, so they don't normally recognize us as food. Although, they don't fear us, either, and their main sensory organs are in their mouths, so they will bite you out of curiosity, or if they mistake you for a seal.

As a rule, the sharks that are most dangerous are also the most obviously large and predatory-looking ones anyway. Beyond that, there's no reason we'd instinctively fear sharks, since we aren't sea creatures.
