I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I think ending the show at 65 episodes would be stupid; The Hub needs all the exposure it can get right now, and having a show based on one of Hasbro's (half-owner and programmer of the channel) best-known properties be in reruns without new episodes by the time it makes any real headway (if it does) would be a stupid move.

"brony" covers such a wide range people and attitudes regarding the show it seems kinda silly to me that being one or not being one is " a thing".
I mean, saying one is a "Trekie" means they maybe like Star Trek a bit more than the average fan, it dosen't necessarily mean they're all guys that cos-play as the fictional wives of characters they made up. Not to say that person doesn't exist, since I picked that description from memory, but every large group has it's share of weirdos.

I went to the McDonald's nearest the house this morning and asked for Twilight Sparkle, but they didn't have her. So I called my dad and asked him to stop at a different McDonald's on his way home from work and ask for the purple pony.

So I was reading the forum's first anniversary thread and caught the reference to the singing telegram. That made me think: What's going to happen when Gummy grows up into a big croc/gator and his name no longer fits him? I suppose Rarity and Twilight could use their magic or Pinkie Pie could use her Looney Tunes powers to keep him from acting up. But still, it seems like a legitimate enough concern.

Pony common sense certainly is not the same as human common sense.
And I suppose if one's cutie mark is the one thing they're destined to do for the rest of their life, they might be inclined to show it off whenever they have half a chance.
Like, for Pony Toy Collectors, do females you invite over for anything, be it like, sex related, i-need-a-place-to-stay-can-i-come-over or just hanging out to play video games, do they ever ask you about your ponies or do you hide them in your room or something?

The line of what we can link to vs what we can only mention in passing is kinda vague, admittedly.
If it's not flagrant smut or super graphic fetish material (like goru) I think it's OK to link. Admittedly, cupcakes is sort of graphic except that it's just words and not pictures. Youtube vids have actually been embedded in the site and I think that's sort of OK.
Stuff like flagrant hentai or strait up porn you'd probably just want to mention enough detail that someone could google if they feel so inclined.
Anyone else think that Cupcakes is way overexposed at this point?

It was the first grim-dark fic, I think. At least the first that anyone gave a damn about, it probably would be a lot less popular if "Party of One" didn't help fannonize "homicidal maniac Pinkie".
Anyhow, it's sort of the easiest example of grim-dark Pony fiction to bring up.
Though, I'm not much into grim dark unless there's a good story behind it, and have never bothered to read it or plan to.

Eh, I wouldn't think a link is anything all that worrisome.
I guess we may have some concern regarding Vanilla usage rights if someone made a pony grim-dark thread, but the odd link to grim-dark fan-faction isn't probably worth worrying about.

Well, just watched the latest episode, Dragon Quest, not too long ago, and I gotta say that "teenage" dragons in the MLP:FiM-verse are pretty fucking stupid, but then I guess we already knew that from Secret of My Excess.
Also, that phoenix chick that hatches at the end of the episode... Man, so much potential there. Here's hoping they don't waste it.

...now going by people on TZ being very cautious about Merriweather Williams's episodes (the latest one, "Dragon Quest", was by her) I kind of want to find a pattern amongst M.A. Larson's episodes' quality. (She did "Sonic Rainboom", one of my favorite episodes, in addition to "The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000".)
