I've beat 3 bosses in Demon's Souls now. It's really fun. It's kind of like playing Dark Souls again for the first time, since I have no idea what I'm doing or how upgrade paths work.
I didn't bother learning much about upgrade paths in Demon's Souls.
Honestly I didn't think the upgrade system was decent until Dark Souls 2 where it allowed for customization but didn't require flow charts,
Also Demon's Souls is the most unpolished of the souls games, but it also has some of the best atmosphere in the series.
I honestly didn't mind the upgrade paths in Dark Souls. And yeah Demon's Souls so far seems to be the most unpolished, but it's nice for me to have that feeling of learning and exploring and not knowing what to expect. Plus, it takes a while to get used to Demon's Souls pace of combat, even for someone who has put n a decent amount of time into the other souls games, so it feel like I get a good challenge from playing while not having too many cheap moments.
More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
I don't get what is hard about a Normal 1cc. Your hitbox is tiny, the bullets are slow and light, you get a lot of extra lives if you don't do horribly, and you get a lot of spell cards to plow through anything tough. But apparently most people struggle to do it. I used to struggle and I cannot remember how or why. It boggles my mind that it can be hard.

Shmups are performance tasks.
The human brain is wired for versatility and adaptability. It can be trained, but is not quite as predisposed, to performing the same task reliably over and over again.
The usual way to train oneself to do such is practice. This means the dedication -- or at least the interest -- to do that task over and over again. Some people like to do this. Others consider it to be a chore.

no sorry I should have clarified
you have to 1cc the three Touhou games simultaneously.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
The talk around Rising Thunder reminds me of the time I used to play fighting games with my brothers and lose a lot, and whenever I managed to input a special I'd feel really good for a moment until that feeling was replaced with an emptiness caused by the knowledge that my victory was empty.
VA-11 HALL-A (they did a really good job of making themselves unsearchable; alt title is "waifu bartending") is a more-animated-than-usual VN where the player's agency is mixing drinks for people as a bartender in a cyberpunk bar. Different drinks, different conversations. There are other similar mechanics in different intermission scenes throughout the game. I like the mechanic and I like the focus of the story (here's a dystopia, but this is about talking to people who live in this dystopia and happen to be visiting your bar). The main page there links the devs' Twitter accounts (@sukebangames has the most game-relevant content) but the blog is also good for browsing and learning more (and looking at pretty sprite art, of course).

I choose to assume that Mozume is actually just a very dedicated cosplayer who pretends to be a Ninja, hence her awful stats.
Mozume finally got to unleash her true ninja spirit.
Alas, being a farmer, she still took three applications of the most broken ability in the game to beat Progenitor.
But anyway, there we have it. Soloed EO3 with a farmer.
