This was a great opportunity for Nintendo to introduce a new property: something it's famously terrible at doing
Tacking it onto the Metroid franchise means that they have no confidence that it'll stand on its own and associates what's clearly a low-effort game with Metroid Prime, which is practically synonymous with being frigging good. Even the second one.
Also, anything Federation Force does, Hunters probably did better.
tbh I don't mind Nintendo sticking with older properties as much because at least new entries in the same franchise are relatively consistently fresh and interesting whereas most other ostensibly new franchises follow similar gameplay models and star SGWGS (stubby gruff white guys)
> Almost flawlesses 7th devil > Barely scrapes a win against Bunny > Loses to Dechronos's first phase, which you're apparently supposed to win, because I had two health and no elixirs left after Bunny.
Fuck you Chelsea. Fuck you so much for being bad at everything.
Yeah, mechanics without a narrative may get me to like a game, but won't make me find it as fulfilling and it'll be hard for it to break into my top-tier list. Top-tier needs the mechanics to work hand-in-hand with some sort of narrative direction or drive in order to build a comprehensive experience.
Which just means we look for different things in our games. I like a game for multiple reasons to be honest, be it for concept or execution. Example: Star Fox 64 is one of my top ten favorite games of all time. It's just sooo good. Sheer fun gameplay and cheesy dialogue.
Also is it wrong that I get Star Fox vibes from Naoki Sato's music? Or that I'd totally want them to orchestrate SF64's music?
Did you know that Rocksteady didn't even work on it? They outsourced it to Montreal so they could design the Battank without interruptions (sorry, Myr, but until I'm definitively proven wrong, I'm going to take the piss out of the tank).
The plot's supposed to be even more slapdash and tacky than City's plot, and as I've extensively talked about in my thread (read it you fools), City's plot is as slapdash as a Batman clip show can be.
does the studio that made....well, any Batman game really need your money?
anyway there's no point in buying something just to laugh at how bad it is. Watch a Lets Play or something.
I will still stand by Arkham Asylum. Did it have issues? Yes. Was it offensive towards women, black people, and the mentally ill? Kind of, kind of and hell yes. But it was a good game with good gameplay that lets you be Batman.
Yeah, just about everything after the introduction of Poison Ivy was pretty lack luster in terms of gameplay, but at least the plot was self-contained and knew where to bloody stop.

i mean like financially.
...Ohh. You mean that Warner Bros is already swimming in enough money that 5 bucks won't tip the scales. I get you.
I already have Antichamber, actually. I'm stuck on a puzzle that I hope will lead me to the last gun of legend.
Game companies hate him! Local poor graduate student exposes shocking secret to picking up tons of games for cheap. Learn the 1 weird tip of an excessively long Steam library.
The irony is that it's actually probably a horribly bad practice for the industry as a whole, both the problem of devaluation of games, and the problem of people buying more games than they'll ever play and splurging on small-cost items.
The one weird tip is merely to wait until stuff is deeply discounted (to -75% or lower) and costs less than US$5. ("Buy bundles" is the addendum that you get for absolutely free if you call the number on your screen right now.)
For a measly price of $19.99, though, you'll get a second weird tip, which tells you to have a budget. And I'll admit I haven't actually followed this sometimes. Not following this is not a good thing.
TL;DR buying a ton of games on the cheap is not (necessarily) a good thing.

It's a small, likely downloadable release
Chances are it didn't delay a larger game or anything

Sometimes in Yume Nikki, there'd be big stretches where you didn't know if you were going anywhere.
For some reason, despite the praise that SotC has gotten, I'm still more in love with ICO.
They are both such pretty games...
I just don't personally care about it. I'm not exactly a big narrative guy when it comes to games.

And almost always damn good music.

The one that's $2.49. Not the newer one.
My steam library has all like two games on it.

I tend to stick to buying games rarely to occasionally. Though renting I find helps significantly.
Kinda sucks when most of the games I'm interested are $40-60. And my PC is crap so...
It tends to be buy and try with them. Or other LEGITIMATE methods.
Got Guacamelee that way.
