Been watching a lot of Yahtzee lately since, Nostalgia Critic-esque reviewing style aside, he gets into a lot of games I never would have even heard of, and his opinions on games are, at worst, reconcilable with mine.
The one area where we split irrevocably is on his opinions towards Mirror's Edge. I count it among my Top 10~20 games of all time. He gets very upset over the whole 'first person platforming' thing and the admittedly loose plot.
I kind of consider the plotholes in Mirror's Edge the same way I consider the odd bits in Studio Ghilbi's fairytale films. The theme is what's important, not the details

I tend to be like this with fiction in general and tend not to feel like nitpicking.
There's a very specific RPG Maker game that this reminds me of. I don't remember the title, but it was about a girl stuck in a trailer with her filthy, abusive dad, and it kind of goes into weirdness from there.
If you cleaned up that game and crossed it with Earthbound, a smidgen of Fallout and Middens, you'd get this game.
I want to buy it, but I can't gauge whether I'll regret it more than I'll enjoy regretting it.

Lain's Horrible Adventure
No, filthier and more abusive.
It made Lain's aesthetic look like Mirror's Edge in comparison.
Mother 1 was apparently fully translated and slated for release outside of the U.S. as the first Earthbound a long time ago and ended up not getting released for whatever reason. My guess is that Earthbound Beginnings is being released now partly because Earthbound sold well on the Wii U virtual console and partly because putting out an already translated game was relatively easy to do (especially when compared to going through and translating all of the text in Mother 3). Granted, that is just conjecture, I think the release is still pretty surprising even when you take all of that into account.
Maybe Nintendo will put the time and effort into translating and releasing Mother 3 if Earthbound Beginnings sells well.

I hope so!
I think it makes sense to release 1 if they already had a working translation, esp. since they're no longer limited by having the Virtual Console and all
I'm sorry, but hype appears to be a foreign concept to me.
you post this any time people feel hype about anything.
aren't you so fucking special
Sorry, I guess I'm just a little bit annoyed at like everyone on Steam trying to talk to me about E3. Where by everyone I actually mean this one persistent person and a handful of other people who have been chattering about it a lot these past few days.
Well the one cool thing that happened in these past few days was that Mother 1 was announced for an official English-language release, finally. That is pretty darned awesome.
It means I now have three reasons to get a WiiU.
Five if Mega Man 9 and 10 are available on WiiU's VC. I don't know if they are.

The ending cutscene and credits were missing their audio. It seemed somehow fitting.

I kinda want to play it again but I don't think I will until I take care of some of the things I picked up in the Steam sale
