does a wall beeping like an ASCII terminal (in Talos Principle) mean anything or is this just a weird bug
Are you on A6?
Yeah
also is my hunch that, in order, green, yellow, and red sigils have puzzles of increasing difficulty correct? I haven't been able to solve any red puzzles yet so I'm just going to ignore them and go back for them later
You know what bothers me most about these sections is that none of the responses mirror what I'd actually say in such a situation. And if I'm being projected onto the player character (which in this game I am), that just bothers the shit out of me.
It matters less in something like Skyrim where you're playing a very set role as an adventure hero, but here, I am to actually think about what I'm doing and why, and it's not letting me do the 'why'.
If I seem overly critical it's only because I otherwise like the game a good deal.
does ELohim giving you the 'there is no shame in seeking another path' spiel mean anything in particular or is that just the game's way of being like "boy you've been at this for a while"

i didn't notice any difficulty change relating to the colors, because you use them for different things

that sucks. only happened to me once. that is supposed to be a major part of the game/appeal.

i don't want to give any advice on the puzzles because figuring out i could do whatever was incredible. that mainly went for one thing though, sometimes it was just frustrating not realizing fans have weight, say. wasted a walkthrough on that one.
Oh, yeah. Yahtzee mentioned something like that in his review of the game, as part of a larger complaint concerning the game not explaining all the rules to you a lot of the time. I probably wouldn't have figured that out myself, let's be honest.

it's a puzzle game. it gets frustrating at times. i looked that one up again and it's nothing magical though.
I'm more frustrated that I'm having this much trouble relatively early on.
you're in the second of three buildings, i think it's reasonable to have trouble. i got really stuck on some of those puzzles too.
and well, like god said, if you have too much trouble you can just go to a different area. you're not, like, doing every area in numerical order, are you?
Well I was, under the assumption that I'd eventually come up short on sigils if I didn't, but I'm having to backtrack now.
I still don't understand the first red sigil puzzle, which is all the way back in A-3 or 4. I feel like I need another jammer, but I don't think that's actually the case.
yes and no, i guess. you already know what some of the sigil colors mean. you can finish the game without getting sigils of some of the colors. i don't think it's intended to be linear.
I JUST KILLED A GIANT XENOMORPH WORM BY FLINGING KNIVES AT IT WITH MACHETE, FINISHING IT OFF WITH RAMBO'S GRENADES AND THEN BECOMING NEO, PUNCHING MY WAY THROUGH ITS CORPSE UNTIL I OBLITERATED ITS HEART
I don't care if this is a meme game. This is incredible.
Monster Hunter Generations is interesting. The hunter styles and arts do a good job of shaking up all the weapons, sometimes in subtle but very powerful ways. Whole lot to play with here.
The downside is that small enemies seem to be a lot more durable and aggressive. Trash Jaggi and Genprey and stuff spawn infinitely, take longer to kill (they've been taking charged GS to the face and getting back up), and will relentlessly knock you out of gathering. Even most herbivores will start ramming you on sight.
In previous games, these enemies would back off and cower when you killed a boss, letting you carve your big kill in the mission outro. Here, sometimes they'll attack you anyway. I've lost a couple carves because fucking raptors kept on my ass during the outro.
I have to admit I wasn't expecting much of Scalebound. The "be a dragon and fuck shit up" genre seems to be horribly cursed, even when the studio trying it has some good successes under their belt.
It wasn't particularly on my radar given that I'm not super into RPGs and Platinum's work (yet), but it's always rough to see big projects like that go up in smoke. If nothing else, the modern fantasy vibe it had going was interesting.
I'm not a big fan of Bayonetta, and I don't think I've played any of Platinum's games anyway, so I didn't hear about this until today. But still sad to see a neat idea go up in smoke.
Has anyone here played Pillars of Eternity? I've got some questions about my build.
I've dumped Might and Constitution, put as many points as possible into mental stats, have 15 Dexterity, and I'm an Orlan Paladin. Yes, I know this isn't a good build. I'm just wondering what to equip amd what role I could fill in combat.
More games need respeccing options. Seriously this is an affordance we figured out well over 10 years ago -- there's no excuse for this perma-gimp crap now.

One of Gau's more useful Rages. Has the Catscratch ability, which attacks with 4x normal attack power.
Wind God Gau was just the beginning.
