Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
Mentioning this because I ran across it again a little while back, but Aoi House is every fucking thing I hate about comics put into one single comic and then distilled. Take everything about anime and manga that makes you cringe and amplify it and you're only scratching the surface of this comic. Take every stupid meme that's over five years old and toss it in well after its fresh date and you have the idiot writer's concept of "comedy." (For instance, the Cthulhu joke is the most recent one. A fucking Cthulhu joke.) Take every concept that you accept about sexuality and gender and then throw it into a clown suit and have put it on parade for the amusement of perverts and you have this comic's idea of "humor" except nobody is laughing because this kind of thing offends everybody.
This is the only comic that I'd ever say turns my fucking stomach.
Except for the artist, she's a Filipino contracted to draw this abomination and actually very skilled. I feel bad for her because she could be doing something else that's fucking incredible and not this trash.
SO I was thinking of possibly finding some untranslated volumes of obscure manga I don't know the plot of, downloading them, and replacing the text with what would essentially be a gag dub, but on a comic.
I'm not sure if any of you would care for such a thing though.
This is in Webcomic Talk because it would be a webcomic at that point. I'd need to find somewhere to host it that wouldn't take it down.

I was going to say how horrible it was until I actually developed a conscience and thought "Hey, I should read it first"
ERMAGERD THIS IS THE BEST THING
If morrigan wasn't so sexeh I would cast Adam as my Avatar
From a quick glance, I wouldn't say that it's horrible, it's just that it's trying way too hard to be OMG SUGOI. If it were more nuanced, I'm sure it'd work better. At the beginning, though, it's like trying to read a version of Love Hina made on the same crack JC Staff took when they made the Excel Saga anime. Or, for that matter, whatever it was that convinced DiC to make Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.
It...it has the previous button on the right and the forward button on the left.
What kind of savages are these people?
I mean...is that a thing that Japanese webcomics do, something that they're ripping off?
Oh yeah, how did I forget to mention this stupid shit? Yes, Adam insisted on making it read backwards (for Westerners) because everything else just wasn't pretentious enough.
Okay, so it appears to be a comic about two dudes who, due to their devotion to the weaboo lifestyle, ascend into the anime world through a college house that may or may not be definitely is devoted to yaoi
That...actually sounds half interesting, but only if it had good writing and decent characters behind it, which it doesn't.

If this is all it was, it'd be just another mental masturbation put to paper but it gets much worse. It's drivel of the rarest magnitude, and I can't think of anything off the top of my head that's as bad as this.
Girl Genius is a very rewarding webcomic. It's got some of my favourite art in webcomics, has some of the most exquisitely detailed hats in webcomics, has gorgeous colors, and has great characters and a good plot.
My one problem with it is that the plot, well, when the White Cat Emperor and Agatha meet Lars and the other circus people; the plot stops dead for at least a hundred strips. Next, when Tarvek Sturmvoras (a.k.a. Red-Headed Spotlight-Stealer) shows up, the plot dies for about a hundred and fifty pages; and then picks up to a breakneck pace that makes every panel for three pages simply jaw-dropping. Then, for a while, things slow down to a good pace; but then the heroes enter the castle.
That's when you should really ask yourself if you are a dedicated reader; five real-life years after they enter the castle, they're still in there, and only about a day and a half has passed; and no way for them to logically leave the castle and continue other plots was in sight.
Of course, they're out of the castle now, and the plot has picked up again; but five years of no plot advancement with three strips coming out per week is a lot of strips of nothing.
Never before has a single panel of a woman walking out a doorway been so dang satisfying!

There's nothing really wrong with Girl Genius, I just can't get past the art -- which, again, there's nothing wrong with it. I just can't stand the style.

I agree with Aliroz on this one.
The problem with Girl Genius is it quickly gets mired in this or that plot development and it just stays there for months on end as the writing attempts to get the plot out of the mud and on it's way only for the whole process to repeat.
Now, it's still a great story and setting and the characters are great, etc... it's just really damn slow now. I think it'll make for a fantastic collection once it's finished, but waiting a couple days or more just to see yet another page of some random troop of the baron's fighting some random monster or robot the Heterodynes had stashed away is getting tedious.
Boo the Miniature Giant Space Hamster, constant companion of Minsc the Brave, defender of innocents, butt-kicker of evil-doers, and friend to all children! He shall inspire you all by charging blindly on! Go for the eyes, boo, go for the eyes! Raaargh! Butt-Kickery for justice!
Minsc and Boo, two of the funniest characters in a game series full of strange personalities; especially if you have Xan the Chronically Depressed Wizard (life... is sooo hollow) in the first game or Jan Jansen in the second.

The thing about a plot like this is that most of the people who would come up with it would be utterly incapable of doing it justice. This is one of those cases, I feel.
That reminds me: I still have to finish Welcome to the NHK.
So, Naney (relatively) recently introduced me to Partydog's oeuvre, vis à vis the Lamezine. This has markedly improved my life on various fronts, not the least reason being that in smokes I have found my new "best (and/or most) tragic web comic ending ever." It reminded me, in terms of experience and imagery, the first time I listened to Arcade Fire's "My Body Is A Cage": Basically just going "wow, damn" over and over inside for several minutes.
Also, dude is friends with the guy that does Feel Afraid, which is brilliant in its own right.

Fair point. I never much cared for Tavrek , but it doesn't help that there have been so many near deaths and maybe ACTUAL deaths that have been rectified in this story that grievous harm to a character has become pedestrian.

Minmax's solution to the oblivion hole in the latest strip is amusing

Seeing two + [gap] = four made me really appreciate the concept of the oblivion holes.
Did Minmax ever carry rope?
I kind of jumped into the series in the middle of Brassmoon, so the early adventures of Minmax are unknown to me.

I remember this comic.
It had a ridiculously positive TVT page that I think has since been deleted. Maybe rewritten, I'm not sure.

there don't seem to be too many good webcomics coming out lately.
Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.
They're out of that goshadarn worthless Mechanicsburg city.
