    I feel like some of those would wind up being irregular verbs. I'd look up the history in the OED but the usual password hasn't been working for me.

    that is possible as well, although considering there's almost no exception with the third person singular present outside of auxiliary verbs, I'd like to see if I could get away with that too

    of course '-est' is not exactly equivalent to '-(e)s' or '-ed' in a couple of ways, but I'd also like to see how to make it fit among them
