So, Stratford and 17th Recordings have dumped me after my flub with the release of the wrong version of And The Winner Is (harsh crowd), so I needed a new label.
SO after thinking about it for awhile, I've decided to split up Adventures in Low Fidelity across several short volumes instead of releasing it as a single album. As such, you can expect Vol. 1 fairly soon.
So I'm finishing my current TAFE in about a month. After that I will probably go into a music production class, and if I do I'll start making a few dubstep tracks and sharing them here.
It's gonna be minimalist dubstep, of course; I don't think I'll immediately become as good as Skrillex or Flux Pavilion...
The trick to a good filthy Dubstep wobble bass isn't the softsynth you use, it's the processing.
Route it to 3 buses and split them up into lows mids and highs with EQing. Compress the low end, distort the mids, and distort and add a bit of reverb to the highs.
Then send those 3 into another bus with your low pass filter. :3
So, Vol. 1 of Adventures in Low Fidelity is officially done.
It's some of my more trippy stuff, but I've avoided making it overlong, the whole volume only lasts about 15 minutes.
Vol. 2 will likely be more hip-hop beats in the vein of The Beet Tape, Vol. 3 will try to combine the two, and I'm undecided on Vol. 4, but if I can get the proper equipment in time, it might be a rap album.
After all this, a compilation will feature most of all four. Probably with some additional tracks.
The next time my internet is functional enough for me to upload things at a reasonable speed, I'll be uploading The Outlands! EP, which has been finished for the better part of five months now. Some of this stuff is available elsewhere already.

***I may cut this one, even after cutting the original Outlands! down to an EP from a full album.
So, in case nobody remembers at this point, I kind of have this weird little dark ambient project going on. I'm also in a band, but most of our recent stuff either hasn't been recorded or isn't finished yet; we sound a bit like some sort of weird hybrid of This Heat and early Akron/Family, but infinitely less impressive than that description would suggest. (One of our songs has samples of '50s propaganda videos and a distorted free-form ukulele solo on it. All you need to know.)
Comments
Here is a demo of "Gradius Rock Revisited" off of the upcoming album.
It's not finished, so I am not sure how much of what is there will stay in the final cut.
[the original "Gradius Rock" was on Nonfiction Mixed in Silver, and, while good to my ears, sounded very unfinished]
Shit, I need to make us chainz now.
QUADRUPLE POSTING, WHOO
British MC Babyfaced Illfigure has offered to rap over "Two Minute Miracle", I let him.
Not sure when the track is dropping exactly, but I'll post it here as soon as it does.
Cool!
Have you thought at all about putting together an album/EP/something yet?

Tre: some interesting stuff here. The beginning was a little weak but it got interesting right around when the drums kicked in.
Solid overall, I like it. :)

Volume 1 of the Adventures in Low Fidelity series is up. Again, not a long tape, about 15 minutes total.
If you listen, please download if you can. Since it messes with my site statistics if you do one and not the other.
I really like "Warning to Bad Future".
upcoming Skullboy stuff:
Possibly with the last two in a different order.
More tentatively, a possible rap album from me, and a possible project with myself and Tre.

And, for lack of a better title, it's dedicated to Stuck.
Behold
It's very fitting.

Also! It needs a cover. Any volunteers?
Ah, it was.
I thought you meant something else.

Very early conceptual sketch of my take on Toonami's classic "Dreams" promo.
Up until the beat kicks in is pretty much final. No guarantee on anything else though.

This track changes instrumentation a lot more than usual. I want to see how you guys'll take it.

It was cool at first, but then it got a bit annoying. I think I'm a bit too impatient for ambient music.

Also, I got a comment on one of the earlier songs that doesn't seem to be some sort of spam. Yay?
(Please don't play any of mine. All of them except for the "j_zero" songs are pisstakes directed at /mu/ and could break your speaker.)

And yeah, the second half of the song is weaker. Couldn't figure out how to end it.
