I'm also glad you liked "I Don't". I had the most trouble with that out of any songs on the album (excepting perhaps "Dances With Killers", which I don't think I'll ever be truly happy with), so I'm glad it turned out okay.
New track, everyone. Kind of a dark ambient thing, a bit on the noisy, glitchy side, with some fluky detuning antics and treated voice fragments thrown in for good measure. Probably not the final version—it feels a bit too aimless at points, like the first part of a piece rather than a complete work, and I think the coda is overlong—but I like it all the same.
^ The underlying backwards sampling is reminiscent of Oval. I'd love to hear more sound tampering in that vein.
also I gave "Black Boy" that oomph and melody, so it's at this point more or less pretty done
maybe this might finally be the first (but Into the Now happened, so second?) thing off of my EP, which at this point will probably end up being called "The Esoteric Pads EP" thanks to a8

regarding the song: i actually liked it better perhaps when the beat was just the straight four to the floor stuff, it was kinda dancey and that with whatever synthy thing you're using (pads? something reversed???) makes it sound like a kinda cool mix of downtempo electronica a la Secede or Helios or Emancipator, except less boring than those dudes can get because youve got smething dancier going underneath it. maybe the melody could be stronger or something idk but its a cool track and especially begins really nicely
Like that pensive slow walking vibe you've got going on here. Spacious yet intimate, like a walk in a snowy park at night. Tasteful use of bitcrushed timbres, too.
nah i think the length is fine. in fact its good. it is a good length i think.
im not ooooverly convinced by the sort of lead you have wandering around there but its alright, what stuck out the most for me is when the bass and stuff comes in the second time after that little quiet section about 2mins in (which was cool), the transition seemed a little jarring, i would say it needs to be a bit smoother perhaps??
also it is a lot lot lot like autechre but you mentioned to me that this was written following some kind of inspiration from an autechre interview... but yeah it sounds like youre going too far towards "sounding like autechre" especially in the opening parts (later on was better)
but dont think im being down on it because its a really cool thing and there are a lot of things about it i like!! keep it going
like maybe what i mean with the transition... listening to it again... is that lead thing is coming in too soon there, i would like it a lot more if we just had the bass and those pads and then the 'doodee doodee doodee doodoo' thing came in a few bars later. needs to be more gradual imo

Thanks for the feedback, Sunn, glad you liked it. :)
^ It's interesting how you were able to make what should be such a frantic beat feel chilled out and meditative. I really like where you seem to be going with that, and with your music in general.
On an unrelated note, I've figured out what I need to do with "Silencer", but it will require tracks that I do not currently have access to. This is mildly irksome.
It's little more than a loop right now but I think I like it. I think I've been developing my own sorta sound lately which is a good thing I think? It's too slow to be a hip-hop beat though.
a friend of mine has had an album released by a noise/power electronics label
its not either of those things - maybe debatably noise - more minimalistic. avant-gardeish. you are under no obligation to listen to it, i dont generally hawk stuff around, but i am linking it because i think its a cool and interesting listen
I think it may be the best thing I've ever done. 'Tis a remix of some unused parts originally made for this song, and also contains a famous and rather cliched passage from a video game I recently finished.
Alright, so this is definitely not going on the EP because it's a remix of a remix, so it seems. As such, the title isn't "Kick Drum", it's "Electronic Sympatique."
This is the original:
Damn Audiotool, throwing me for a loop as to whether I could actually use it. Ah well.
So, my band might finally release our album in the next few months, if we don't totally screw ourselves over or get screwed over by outside forces (which is possible). The bad news is that we're still figuring out the track-listing and have songs to work on and work out; the good news is that we have more than enough material to fill our initial goal of twenty-five minutes and possibly enough to create a full forty or fifty minute LP.
The band, as I've mentioned, is Therapy Tapes, which I think is a pretty good name. Our forthcoming album is tentatively titled Aspirations of the Living and Those Less Fortunate, which is a very morbid joke if you stop to think about it for a while.
Our modus operandi is to take acoustic instruments and create very much un-acoustic music with them through treatments and approach. The result bounces between chamber-pop, noise-rock, art-folk, sound collage and any number of other silly labels. We like ukulele, banjo and viola, particularly when played in ways not typical of ukulele, banjo or viola. Glockenspiel, recorder, dulcimer, bandurria, mandolin, toy piano and Ronald Reagan also make appearances, among other things.

I don't really know what to call it. It reminds me of the soundtrack to An Untitled Story
I did, whoops.
I have never heard the soundtrack to An Untitled Story, so that doesn't help much unfortunately. :x
what do you think of the other tracks I posted on the last page?

I like I Don't (even though I don't quite understand why you put two minutes of static near the end). Don't have much else to say about it.
oh the static wash is unintentional. FL Studio does weird things when you load long samples into Slicex.
It'll be gone in the album version.
I am not sure what you mean by "march feel" with regards to "Another World" though.

I will take your word on that.
It was meant to be more evocative of a procession of hooded figures through the forest than a drumline though.

I forgot to tell you that I liked this.
reshared it on my soundcloud page
also that "I Don't" remix is hella trippy
it has inspired me to do a series of half-assed IDM remixes of the Songs From The Lion's Paw album, it has.
Really liking the new tune, Tre.

I made this and it exists.

Normally I don't post tracks that are in a "transition phase", but I really like what I did with the second part here.
Also it's both a rework of an old song I haven't touched in forever, and a tribute to my favorite Teen Titan.
So it's p. cool in my own humble opinion.

And I guess...here's an extended chorale that I threw together over the break
Songs From The Lion's Paw was supposed to drop several days ago, but it's been delayed if any of you care.
Sam still needs to finish up his remix of "Another World", he's a busy man unfortunately.
also I'm going to have a tropical-themed EP out at some point, idk when.

I guess this is me trying to make a Mojave-type song with my limited control of an inferior digital workshop.

also I need a better theme on there. If someone could find me one I'd be much obliged.
