If you don't mind the nitpick here, the ヴェ makes a "ve" sound (when a single symbol does not exist for a given syllable, small vowel symbols are used like this to modify the 'regular' syllable that symbol makes). モハヴェムシク is "Mohave Mushiku." :)
I have had this pointed out to me, but I was not aware of it at the time.
Sort of do, sort of don't. It is, quite literally, composed of other tracks, which are in turn composed of other tracks, some of which (the most basic parts) I simply do not have with me right now.
If you'd like, I could pass you along the full "songs" that this thing is constructed from. They are, in certain cases, quite a different experience on their own, particularly considering how I've tweaked some of them.
i liked it up until ~1 minute you had a kind of nice thing going on but i think bringing the synthy stuff to the fore wasnt the best thing to do? also the beat going on with the metal hits wasnt as good after that first section
i need better drum samples and i'm still learning mixing stuff, but it's getting nicer
1st thing: thats cool and i like it and i dont really have any complaints?
2nd thing: the reversed drums sorta outstayed their welcome and i think you need to kill the fill at ~1:10 because it killed the beat totally for me, that said its a very nice beat and i like what you did with this.
also did you ever get around to re-upping that thing you took down a few days ago? or is that one of these
i liked it up until ~1 minute you had a kind of nice thing going on but i think bringing the synthy stuff to the fore wasnt the best thing to do? also the beat going on with the metal hits wasnt as good after that first section
the screams are weird. so keep them in
Yeah, I was kind of winging it after 1:36 when it came to the beat. Wanted something that wasn't as overpowering as the earlier sections.
I don't really know what I'd replace the synth with, at least the first bit of it. The second bit was thrown in near the end, and it probably does need replacement, but the first bit just makes such a nice background for the screams.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I listened to it. But unfortunately, I can't give much in the way of useful advice.
The idea of making staccato notes out of the sample is interesting. It also sounds vaguely like a tune from one of the Pokémon anime soundtrack things.
also I can't figure out what the swing bar actually does, all it seems to do is make the notes on the pattern overlap more, which is weird and I think I'm doing it rong.
i usually use fruity slicer because it has less fine control
Well, that's cool but by default Fruity Slicer seems to just play the entire sample (which is usually a break somewhere around 30-80 seconds in length) without any real regard for....anything.
I have to delete the default notes off the piano roll and rearrange them myself, which is what I already do with Slicex.
Yes but that sounds like, awful. I've tried that before and without actually chopping up the break you just basically have two completely disconnected sounds playing at once, so that can't be what you're doing.
also when I turn up the Swing on (for instance) the track that I posted earlier, it sounds like this. Which is horribad.
Particularly relating to whether or not the vocal manipulation is comprehensible.
I kind of like it with the swing bar cranked. It stutters a bit too much, but it feels a bit more lively. Maybe if you just cranked it halfway, it might work (not that I know anything about FL Studio).
Not sure what you mean with the second question. I like the sound of the samples, but I couldn't tell that they were vocals until you told us and I can't recognize any words.
about half of the sample placement is done (meaning the final track will be about twice as long/dense), and no effects have been added yet. so it's rough.

Sounds like something from Lain's Kind of Horrible Game, to be honest.
well if you say so.
I have had this pointed out to me, but I was not aware of it at the time.
I asked several people beforehand, but yeah. :/
edit: disregard all of this I suck cocks
well then don't listen to our stuff? >_>
how do you think I feel on IJBM where everyone is all metal all the time.
well um, you realize you're not in the music discussion thread right?? This is a thread for music we made.
I'm just thinking you're possibly confused.
S'alright.
While you're here visit my bandcamp because I was neglected as a child.
I like this.
I don't suppose you have the stems? Want to remix.
I MADE A NEW SONG AND IT'S PRETTY KEWL
it's not done yet but that's the gist of it.
also the main riff is from here. Which Cream may or may not find amusing.

This is January. It's being called Pots for now.
The story goes like this: I found a collection of metal hits, and then I found a collection of voices that had screams.
I still need to fix the volume problems near the end.

Second one, well, I like the reversed drums post-3:15, but Sunny's right. You should probably let up on the reversed drums in general.
I don't mind the fill, but it gets a bit...vague around 2:06-2:20. It's something about the beat and that one bit of 3/4 time. Yeah, I was kind of winging it after 1:36 when it came to the beat. Wanted something that wasn't as overpowering as the earlier sections.

haha drum programming.
I still can't make a good hip-hop beat in FL Studio. :[
anyway Nanes I like these but I don't know anything about Dn'B, so you should probably take sunny's advice over mine.
lol

(Also, apologies for attention whoring, but if anyone else has any advice for the Pots thing, I'd be glad to hear it)
Fruity Slicer specifically?
I usually use Slicex.

I don't know what that means.

the reason the song is called what it is is because it's what I think the vocal samples sound like they're saying.
They're not of course, the song they're sampled from is in Japanese, but still.

I remember hearing something like "ice-kick". And listening to it again, I can hear the "so".
early version of the araabmuzik remix.
