also he's like cartoonishly sexist, and between him and Action Bronson that's now "cool" again. I could complain about this for awhile and go on as to why I hate it but I'm not gonna.
Blue Chips is pretty good but most of his other material is so-so. He gets put over beats that don't suit him a lot and he sounds really, really similar to Ghostface Killah. His music's been getting worse too, Saab Stories was really bad and a lot of the lyrics were just flat out gross.

every time a fanartist drew something that was not a cartoon horse they received metric fucktons of on and off anon hate
every artist who refused to draw porn, or drew the wrong kind of porn, received the same treatment
on top of that there was consistent homophobia and misogyny pretty much everywhere
so i am not some person who is going "lel the neckbeards are watching the cartoon horses lel"
i was there, i saw everything
See, I think I only managed to dodge that kind of burnout because I didn't ever engage myself very deeply in the fandom
Like, I would watch the show, and I would spout the memes and I would look at fanart from time to time, but I never really followed any particular artists, and when I did talk about the show it was almost always with people I already knew and liked, rather than a community specifically about ponies

This is why I don't really like fandom. I like talking with other fans of things on friendly terms, but when the lens narrows and the jackass bell curve comes into effect, it gets ugly and stupid.
