What annoys me is when you make a point of saying how great it is that you aren't participating and how stupid everyone else is for doing so.
At some point I think you have misunderstood me. While I repeatedly suggest others follow my lead in avoiding aimless internet drama, i do not really care if they indulge in it or not.
What I do care about is when it is dragged around outside of where it is actually happening pointlessly. I do not need to, or want to, hear about your (*or anyone else's*) encounters with the dubious ideas of adolescent feminists/MRAs/libertarians/car insurance salesmen/whatever on tumblr. It is not enjoyable in any way, shape or form, nor is it informative, interesting or engaging. It is bad content.
There are two reasons I do this: either I want to see if I'm wrong about dismissing it, or because sometimes I just like to vent. I really don't understand why you have such a problem with this.

I liked Bridge to Terabithia when I was 7
But this had less to do with the story itself and more because the idea of creating an imaginary kingdom fascinated me

Somehow everybody had missed the real answer, which is don't fucking use GIF. :P

You can't combine posts out of order to make new sentences! I'm telling Ms. Teacherson!

No
The Movie was crap, but you can just kinda tune out of a movie and ignore it, whereas you can't really tune out a thing you read
it's like the difference between, say, looking at a piece of poop and bathing in poop.
This sort of implies you saw a bathtub full of poop and decided to jump in anyways then proceeded to rub fecal matter all over yourself over the course of a few hours...
Unless you have some compulsion to continue reading things long past the point where you're convinced they'd have redeeming qualities...
i meant like, you can "watch" a movie, but not really experience it, think about something else and just kinda let it fade into the background. But reading a book, at least for me, takes full effort and concentration.

^^I suppose, but I mean...when I saw that Man on the Moon didn't have the prose to keep me engaged enough to even care what messed up shit happened on the moon, I abandoned ship and gave that book back to the library.

@T-shirt thing: I apparently now have the ability to morph into a donkey wearing MegaMan's helmet and arm cannon and quote Game Grumps' "Seven Asses" moment.
man scrolling through tumblr sees a feminist rant about hating men
iphisquandary:
plot twist: the man thinks, ah, she is simply expressing her frustration as a member of an oppressed group, whilst hating the construction of masculinity that was designed to keep her down, not necessarily all individual men such as myself…this is absolutely not the same thing as sexism and not a personal attack on me *keeps scrolling

I recall liking Bridge to Terebithia when I read it in like....seventh grade. I'm not sure it'd hold up if I read it today.
In fact, I'm pretty sure that the only book I read before high school that I might still enjoy is Sophie's World.

have you seen the movie?
It's literally "the book, but with anything you found good about the book removed".
yes

(*note: it being assigned does not really effect my opinion on it, some of my fave things i've read have been for school*)

Man on the Moon was written by Wells's lounge-singer friend, Tony Clifton.
