So if someone said "black people, don't follow my blog" people would say I'd be right to be angry because that's blatant discrimination.
So how is "adults, don't follow my blog" any different? I didn't choose to be adult, and you're excluding me on the basis of something I don't have control over at this point in time.
So yes, that makes me angry.
Children are not oppressing you, and do not have the power to do so.
Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
"Black people don't follow my blog" is likely a white person thing to say. And if you wanted to hurt yourself, you'd continue to follow, and so. By definition, white people possess more power than black people.

I didn't choose to be a dude, but I'm not allowed in a women's restroom.
(I am not making a point about trans people here, I am a cisdude)
Ok, but the difference is: you're comfortable being a dude. If you felt like you were meant to be a woman and intended to transition to living as a woman, I would hope most decent people would defend your right to use the women's restroom.
Now replace "dude" with "adult" and "woman" with "kid" and you have my scenario.

There are lots of things we don't get to choose. Lots of things we would all love to change or reverse.
But like it or not, we're stuck with them. And we're stuck with everyone else. We can minimize our suffering and help others by carefully negotiating our needs with the needs of others.

You can't go back to living as a kid now, sure, but if the opportunity arises, wouldn't you do it? I would, and I think that's what counts.

thing is if a hypothetical not-me (not you, either), who let's say is my age, has an adult's knowledge and sexuality and whatnot, but is a complete stranger, someone i don't know at all besides the general fact of their age
if that person magically turned into a kid and attended school with other kids, looking no different from the other kids, if i was a parent of a child at that school i think i'd find that information extremely disturbing

I missed this post in the refreshing and the laughing over bronies but it's just as well because I can't quite articulate a response to it.
In my ideal scenario nobody but me would have to know that I was an adult in a kid's body, though I suppose that would be a harder and harder lie to maintain if I kept, uh, not aging.

i vaguely remember this forum or ijbm2 having really dumb debates about "age dysphoria"
You want to be a child forever, so presumably you couldn't go through school like a normal kid under those circumstances. i just want a chance to do it again with the power of hindsight and maybe 'fix' my adult self in the process.
i want certain experiences i missed out on, certainly, but not to keep living them forever
When I have feelings like that, it's more through the lens of actually revisiting that time than actually being that age again. As much as I glorify 1991-1992, the early 1990s weren't an easy time for me, and I don't think hindsight would make them any easier.
i abandoned *that* idea. it was fun to picture myself revisiting humiliating memories and doing something awesome instead, but then i started worrying about what happens about people who died, i'd know their deaths were coming and i wouldn't be able to say anything, and then i started worrying about time paradoxes and no thanks
so now i tend to picture more me starting over now, in 2015

So I was browsing Google and Tumblr for LPer stuff, and found... something called the LP RPG fan project, even having an ask Tumblr (which at least isn't them acting like the LPers). I just find it really weird to me. Not like I haven't seen fan stuff before (looking at you TRG and Grumps fans), but a game? And an RPG at that? I get being attached to LPers, but not that attached.
ngl Centy I don't understand your many objections to specificities of language that some people use.
I just don't like it when people insist on terminology that would alienate "normal" people
Because I want transgenderism and genderqueerness to gain mainstream acceptance and we're never gonna do that if we insist on not talking the way normal people do
Yes, the biggest reason why trans and queer individuals are alienated is because they insist to being different and not "normal".
the solution is not to alienate "normal" people with terms like cis and trans and use "normal" people. being kind to oppressors is actually the solution for the oppressed.
I dunno, am I not allowed to get a liiiittle annoyed when someone reblogs one of my post but has an entire page detailing reasons I'm not "allowed" to follow them?
People asking you not to follow their blog has very little to do with you and more to do with the person in question.
Stop making this about yourself, please. considering how many shitty adults are in this world It's perfectly fine for children not to feel comfortable about adults following their blog.

What upsets me is that they're treating me as an adult when I don't identify as or consider myself to be an adult
Speaking of the "don't follow me if..." things I've seen some rather weird ones.
"Don't follow me if your name is Stephanie or you interact with people named Stephanie" (at least I -think- it was Stephanie) as one of the weirder examples; couldn't they just... block whoever this "Stephanie" was that they had a grudge against?

When you say to me "kids not wanting you to follow them is ok because you're an adult" what you're telling me is that because I'm physically an adult that somehow makes it harmful for me to follow people who are the age I actually feel like
