I dunno, am I not allowed to get a liiiittle annoyed when someone reblogs one of my post but has an entire page detailing reasons I'm not "allowed" to follow them?
yeah, it's annoying, but the better response is to just ignore it and go on with your day, since there's really nothing you can say or do that won't be taken as (part of a larger) attack

Most of the folks I see who put 'don't follow me' are minors and don't want adults to follow them. Sensibly.
See, I can't really get behind that because it plays into that "it's creepy when adults interact with teenagers on Tumblr" mentality a lot of younger Tumblr users seem to have

We don't get a say in who people can and can't trust.
It's not so much that, as it is...how can it put it...like, these kids have an illusion of control?
Like they think that if they say "don't follow me if [whatever]" then that means they're safe from people who would make them uncomfortable. But Tumblr is a huge website and a very public one, and it worries me that kids think of it as their "safe space" when in reality it's anything but.

More specifically, a lot of kids seem to have the idea that Tumblr is a website "for" teenagers and that adults there are intruding on what's supposed to be a safe space for kids.

Let's try another approach then.
My age is none of anyone else's business.
It's not my fault I can't be a teenager anymore and I won't have people holding that against me when it's something I have no control over.

Like, am I wrong to be annoyed when I feel younger people are looking down on me for my age?
If I could I would just be 13 permanently but I can't yet

Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
That's exactly what it sounds like. You want to be younger, but you can't, and now you feel that you should punish other people because you can't be what you want.

Reminder: I am the kind of person who will pull out my phone specifically to take a picture of a "no photography" sign.
If you try to tell me what to do, odds are I will disobey you out of pure spite.
Doubly so if you're insulting me for not being a kid.
alright now I'm picturing Princess Alice walking up to a volcano with a "no trespassing" sign at the base and then saying "you can't tell me what to do" and scaling the volcano.

why tho
Because I have a deep contempt for authority in all forms, especially when it has no solid basis.
Is that so wrong?
I mean yeah, kinda.
Like if you were revolting against a police state or something than sure.
But going on someone's blog when they don't want you there just strikes me as sort of pointless. It's like the people who come on the HipHopHeads subreddit in the Daily Discussion threads and talk about how much they love dadrock and how Lil Wayne is the worst person alive.

Yes, because that attitude is going to get you hurt.
Now, don't get me wrong, I also dislike authority. But there's no sense in compulsive spite. You need to pick your battles.
And to even think that children have any overt authority over you is just ridiculous. You're the one with authority, by being an adult. By resisting their resistance, you make things worse.

i feel like it's probably not an insult
or if it is, it's only an insult to adults who follow them, not adults who wouldn't want to follow their teen drama blog anyway
Maybe "insult" isn't the right word
But it fails to comprehend, as mentioned, that my not being a teenager is not by choice

My blockquote not working properly is also not by choice
I knew we should have gone with...uh...what was that other forum software I liked?
I guess I can't have felt that strongly about it if I can't remember the name. MyBB or something?

If you put a sign in front of your house that says "KEEP OFF SIDEWALK" I will make it a point to walk past your house every time I go for a walk just because you don't have the authority to tell me I can't use a public sidewalk.
How is the following a blog situation any different?
They're telling certain types of people not to follow their blog.
There is a subtle difference.
Some of them maybe are presuming some kind of authority, but most probably know that ultimately they have no control over it and are just hoping people will take the message and respect their wishes

It is their blog. Their publically viewable blog, sure, but still their blog.

So if someone said "black people, don't follow my blog" people would say I'd be right to be angry because that's blatant discrimination.
So how is "adults, don't follow my blog" any different? I didn't choose to be adult, and you're excluding me on the basis of something I don't have control over at this point in time.

You should send them to the dungeon for a week.
maybe i should just check mister taxis's blog separate from actually using TumbHoo.

i dunno
it sucks, actually, but there are very good reasons why teens shouldn't trust adults who claim to be teenagers on the internet, no?
they're just exercising some caution in that case
anyway i would think at base they're not so much rules as 'i will be uncomfortable if these people are closely following my blog'

what about Finally Rich tho.
that's kinda
well, like, they know that
that's not how aging works
i feel like Mach is right here, they don't have authority over you, if anything it's the reverse and they're trying to rebel a bit
STOP CALLING ME AN ADULT
idk what the fuck to say here
i didn't ask to be an adult you know, i didn't want this, i'm not ready for this

It is not their pavement.
