look, the point is it's not the friggin bible, it's a kid's book. if some kid can enjoy it more imagining the chosen one looking like them it's pretty ridiculously stodgy to go "uhhhhh hello you can see in chapter 9, verse 3 that you're wrong"
Unsurprising reaction, considering that villains like Anakin or Sephiroth tend to get romanticized on Tumblr.
I mean, it's not like the narrative justifies THEIR actions, or even fails to condemn them. It's just that Daredevil came out later, when they were old enough to act smart instead of side with the bad guys.
There's an interesting post going around about how people who try and justify the villain's actions were often vilified themselves in their lives, and chose the wrong people to identify with as a result.
Real villains don't identify with fictional ones, they think they're the hero. :/
I AM THE GREAT TRAITOR. THERE MUST BE NO OTHER. ANYONE WHO EVEN THINKS ABOUT DESERTING THIS MISSION WILL BE CUT UP INTO 198 PIECES. THOSE PIECES WILL BE STAMPED ON UNTIL WHAT IS LEFT CAN BE USED ONLY TO PAINT WALLS. WHOEVER TAKES ONE GRAIN OF CORN OR ONE DROP OF WATER MORE THAN HIS RATION, WILL BE LOCKED UP FOR 155 YEARS. IF I, AGUIRRE, WANT THE BIRDS TO DROP DEAD FROM THE TREES THEN THE BIRDS WILL DROP DEAD FROM THE TREES. I AM THE WRATH OF GOD. THE EARTH I PASS WILL SEE ME AND TREMBLE. BUT WHOEVER FOLLOWS ME AND THE RIVER, WILL WIN UNTOLD RICHES. BUT WHOEVER DESERTS...

oh except for one, who was a shark lady pirate captain who wasn't actually a pirate captain, she just tricked people into thinking she was for the purposes of her elaborate con-schemes
she's like my fave character i've ever come up with period
I came up with a necromancer who took to the profession so that his countrymen wouldn't have to die when invaders came around. Which I may have stolen from Mardek III
There are a surprising number of uses for the undead that aren't evil, even if all the undead can do is fight.
Well my problem is not so much with Daredevil, which I've heard is good, so much as this particular point being held up as particularly novel or brave.

There are worse things in the world than excessive (but not unearned) credit. These people don't know much about writing and misguided or not it's nice seeing an attempt to engage with it.

He was a throwaway Slytherine character who was imagined as a girl and a possible romance for Draco, but then he was confirmed to be a guy.
