  • naw it's two bros who fight supernatural bad dudes like they're buffy or some shit and also there are some angels
  • Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Supernatural is so white it's laughable.

    And infuriating.
  • honest the more hate i see the more i want to watch it just to fuck with people
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
but i'm laughably white, do you think i'm infuriating????

my brother phoned me to talk about e3 and i felt bad because i could tell he was really wanting to talk about it and i was super not interested and i have been paying zero attention to any of it

although i'm glad Kex got mad at the 'Nintendo make the same games over and over' thing and not me because I totally would have blown up about that if i'd seen it
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I for one, would like a claymation Call of Duty game.
  • Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.
as for Nintendo the thing is that most of these games will end up being delayed because Nintendo's dev team isn't used to working in HD

People can't be laughably white, because people are what they are, and most of the time there's nothing wrong with that.

It's when people make art, visions of the world, that something can be "laughably white and infuriating."

I mean, they had Rakshasa on the show. Unrighteous Vedic/Hindu monsters who are compelled to transgress social norms like cleanliness, piousness, and leaving other people alive.

Who have been portrayed like this.
    image

    Or this.
    image

    Or even this.
    image

But how do they portray this malevolent creature of violence and madness on Supernatural? Like this.

I get that there are budget constraints. But if you can't do something well, then don't do it at all.
  • If they had chosen the third one, I might just take everything back that I've said about the show.

Granted, what I've said about it is mostly "*yawn*" and "*bigger yawn*", so it probably wouldn't be worth the effort.

imho go "lady in the water" or go home
  • kill living beings
? is that anger? i mean it's tagged like it but... i'm confused help

(i don't need it explained though plz)
  • There is no explanation; people are just looking for any reason to hate the guy. It's pathetic.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I sometimes wonder if Tumblr believes that another holocaust will happen if they don't find something new to be mad about every hour of the day
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
So he almost had a brief cameo in a film based in a book that he wrote, but it was later cut for runtime or story flow or something. Stephen King has been doing this for decades, playing pizza delivery guys and other bit parts; hell, he's been making jokes about that sort of thing in his writing since at least the 80's. It's not like this is even new territory for popular writers, let alone something worth getting worked up over.
  • Sup bitches, witches, Haters, and trolls.
the structure of the site encourages oversaturation, really.  combine with a pushback against "tone policing" and you get the sky-is-falling style conversational style of tumblr
  • Trying to figure out what the joke is supposed to be is just a waste of energy.

We can do anything if we do it together.
^^^ Are we supposed to hate Stan Lee for taking cameos in films based on the comics he helped create now?

That's what this person seems to be implying.

also this would imply that the stan lee cameos in marvel films are a bad thing, which how can you even think that

That was one epic mindmeld we had there, Lilly.

    Hm.

Shall we move on now? I think we're complaining about people complaining about nothing, which might actually be worse than complaining about nothing.
  • Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
I think the joke was "he was going to be in his own movie, but they cut him out 'cause he's a weenie"
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Prolly. Still stupid. Let's move on, please.

y'all wanna laugh at stupid shit i'll show you something really mind-melting:

    what's the joke
  • what's the joke

    that Esquire

    1. is running a competition to win free clothes from Mens Wearhouse

    2. did a collaborative collection with Mens Wearhouse

so basically Esquire is the joke

    the big, sad advertorial joke
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Which is particularly baffling given that Esquire tend to advertise very expensive designer clothing and advocate for buying things that are durable and look nice over, well, what that sort of store tends to sell.
  • iunno about "very" expensive

like yeah they definitely do post some dubious overpriced stuff sometimes, but these are the dudes who made the $6-700 J Crew Ludlow the go-to first-time budget minded suit.
  • edited 2014-06-11 23:38:13

i own a corduroy ludlow jacket that i use as a blazer/sportcoat during the fall

it's rather nice, though those super-narrow lapels are already looking dated

...honestly idk why anyone would buy a suit new
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
^^ True. Being poor has coloured my view of pricing.
  • ^^ True. Being poor has coloured my view of pricing.

it has for me too definitely, but on clothing my willingness to splurge kinda cancels that out
  • Because it's five in the morning and I get wistful and nostalgic when it's earlate I made a bigass post about Homestuck. Bask.
  • I wonder if anon uses "bunself" or other cute pronouns.
  • kill living beings
    definitely with toenail-fister
  • bunself? dang that's cute that's the pronoun i want from now on
  • Poe's Law applies so hard on Tumblr.  It's frequently very difficult to tell if trolling or serious.  Worse, the first post may be a troll and people then take it seriously and support it.  Sometimes the real thing is more absurd than the trolls.

About silly pronouns: the problem is that pronouns aren't something you use yourself.  They're something other people use when referring to you.

christ, the puns aren't even related to the original language, this isn't an l/r joke
  • they say these things as if the Japanese aren't crazy about both puns and English and wouldn't be going nuts over this shit

You may notice that a delta symbol has replaced the A in the GACT letters written all over it's body, which are the four numbers used to represent the four nucleobases of DNA.

This is foreshadowing that Whitesnake, the Stand, is incomplete, which is paid off when it later evolves into C-Moon and after that, Made In Heaven/Stairway To Heaven
  • You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I like how they add "But I'm a white USian" at the end AFTER they've already gone on a long rant about perceived prejudice against a group they don't belong to. It's like they understand on some level that they don't have the proper context to make that judgment, but couldn't resist the opportunity to lecture people anyway.

Also, anyone who uses "USian" with a straight face is not to be taken seriously.
  • kill living beings
    lol jjba
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
CA: Yeah, I've noticed the "USian" thing myself. Indeed, bringing up your nationality at all in a debate is usually a sign that things have gone wacky.
