honestly these kitschy bar & grill-type places were starting to wear out their welcome years ago. There was an episode of Sealab 2021 from like 2001 that spent practically all of its runtime dragging them.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

don't try to tell me the pictured meme isn't hilarious.

It's an amusing observation but also has some truth to it -- there's an increasing amount of availability of information, but with it comes a decreasing feeling of "realness" to the information, as everything becomes something acquired secondhand or nth-hand. Doubly so for people who are living in a consumer-oriented first-world society with modern conveniences that obscure the sources of their resources.
the average millennial could conceivably be spending money that helps employ people who are able to buy products and keep the economy moving and thus could be responsible for moving far more money than they personally ever come in contact with
ITT we simultaneously buy less food and spend more money than we'll ever make in multiple lifetimes on it.
The only possible conclusion is that food has reached Zimbabwe levels of ludicrous inflation. Or, you know, people who write articles about millenials are just full of shit.

I think what happened is that they were originally going to tweet "millennials spend $96 billion on food [per year]" but then wanted to get the word "average" in there (because the article is all about the food preferences of "the average millennial") and didn't notice that they'd turned it into nonsense.
the second best part of that tweet is "here's how we break it down" because it sounds like the article is going to be an explanation of the digestive system
For the cost of roughly two-three visits to Applebee's you can go to a snazzy high society kind of restaurant with super amazing food. I would rather go out less frequently but visit nicer restaurants than go out all the time.
I'm currently in love with Fabi+Rosi here in Austin. Holy shit it was good.

ah, it seems that the author is trying to draw overly-broad and speculative conclusions from studies.
*stares for a moment*
*cheers*
