I mean you're white because you do your best to regulate us and keep things civilized and non-fightey, which is pretty white from what I've experienced.
i think the mtg color i match least is probably black
with white i have an idealism for justice and doing things right with red i have strong emotions'with blue i havs a tendency to think a lot about planning things with green i like nature and i also feel that there is value in accepting things as they come
self-interest, as a conscious consideration at least, is more uncommon

The blackest thing you ever did was BRING ME BACK TO IJBM/HH. You've unleashed a monster. You are blue, so you can't lie. YOU WANTED TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. You're a mad scholar, glenn.
I could be white because I have an idealistic view of the world and I see the value of doing things in rigorous, dependable ways.
I could be red because my emotions mean a lot to me and tend to have a personal, creative streak in the way I enjoy things, and I can also be pretty aggressive when angry.
I could be blue because I prefer to analyze situations to gain a thorough understanding of them so as to make and implement the best plans of action I can think up.
I could be green because I like nature, and I also appreciate adaptability and resilience to natural chaos.
I could be black because I sometimes look at situations amorally with a willingness to sacrifice things to produce results.
this reminds me of a deck i used to use; it was a deck made by a friend but it was basically black/blue with regeneration stuff. lots of weak and disposable and/or regeneratable creatures.
It was in black and green from the start. And yeah, it was extremely confusing so they stopped using it.
awwwww
what did they replace it with
Reassembling Skeleton was made to basically be what most people misunderstood Drudge Skeletons to be, but yeah there isn't a general purpose replacement.
From what I understood, Regeneration meant "You have to kill this twice"
Well kind of. I mean you could use regeneration as many times as you want, so it's not so much "kill it twice" as "you can't kill it unless they're out of mana".
I've been playing MTG on and off for about 5-7 years and I never quite got regeneration. It was just easier to not use it than to have a perfect understanding of that rule. It was the most labyrinthine thing MTG's had since banding
I remember when Progenitus came out, everyone was trying to decide what "protection from everything" meant. Like what game rules did it obey, what it didn't, it was a fun mess.
From my limited understanding of MtG, it seems that they settled on using a "stack" concept to explain how you could spring Instants and permanents' abilities in response to other people doing things. So basically, if I'm attacking you with Bob The Bog Creature which has 1 power, but you throw out an instant that destroys Bob the Bog Creature, you're doing that to prevent Bob The Bog Creature from doing 1 damage...except, if your instant happens AFTER Bob The Bog Creature attacks you, then you've still taken 1 damage. So they made it so that your response goes on top of the stack, meaning that your instant is resolved before Bob The Bog Creature attacks you, not after.
And similarly, if I play a counterspell in response to your instant, then my counterspell goes on top of your creature-destroying instant, so my counterspell resolves first and nullifies your instant and then Bob hits you anyway, afterward.
I'm guessing the idea of Regeneration didn't quite work with this, because the term "regeneration" implies coming back to life after being killed (or regaining health after being injured). So if you throw a creature-destroying instant at Bob, but Bob has a regeneration ability that says pay one black mana to regenerate him, and I pay one black mana to use that ability...well, now Bob's regeneration goes on top of the stack, and resolves BEFORE your instant. This means that Bob regenerates uselessly, THEN your instant kills him anyway.
I heard that they fixed it by replacing it with "Prevent the next time your creature would be killed or destroyed" or something like it. So now you can stick this line above the creature-destroying instant in the stack, and it gives Bob a special status of "I don't die the next time I'm killed", and THEN your instant kills Bob but activates the clause saying that Bob doesn't die, so Bob doesn't die, and then finally Bob hits you for 1 damage.
I remember when Progenitus came out, everyone was trying to decide what "protection from everything" meant. Like what game rules did it obey, what it didn't, it was a fun mess.
I mean it's straightforward if you properly understand protection. The mnemonic was DEBT: damage, enchant/equip, block, target. Those are the things that protection stops. So protection from everything just means that it can't be damaged, enchanted/equipped, blocked, or targeted by anything.
Of course, most people don't properly understand protection and it has also been mostly phased out, for that reason.

And direct-destruction effects that don't specifically target it can still hit it, right? As well as remove-from-play effects that don't specifically target it?

i think that's a green ability now lol
This gives me Green, and is also possibly more entertaining than the last one.
