Wait, so does the shower having its own heating element mean the temperature is controlled directly? Here our shower temperatures are controlled by adjusting the mixture of hot and cold water. Even if your shower has its own "on-demand" water heater, I think it still heats the water up to some preset "hot" temperature and then some cold water is mixed in enroute to the shower head to provide a comfortable temperature.
Nicer showers have a more complicated control system where you just set the temperature, and sometimes the flow rate, but even those still just mix hot and cold water behind the scenes.
The concept of just heating a flow of water to the desired temperature and spraying it on a person immediately is foreign to me.

I'm not sure how having an electric shower in The Sims would be meaningfully different from the showers that are already in the game, because it's not like you have to, y'know, deal with the water heater or anything.
I guess it could introduce the risk of electrocution if you didn't keep it well-maintained, but that's about it.

I love Big Clive so much
The videos where he buys a clock kit or something and assembles it are great; his soldering technique is so satisfying to watch
One thing I wish they had on the Sims was ghettotrash/wasteland equivalents of things.
Like, I wanted my multi-million nucleic 50's style family, who had mauve and white themed utilities and appliances, who had garden gnomes, lawn furnitures, who all were doctors and lawyers...to squat over a piece of wood with a hole in it supported by two cinderblocks, and a bucket beneath.
I don't know why. Swapping out the glamorous for the outright gross was always so amusing.
"Alright hun, I'm gonna go shower before I head off to work. Anyone know where the wooden crate with rusty sheet metal and a garden hose is?

some people are actually doing stuff like that, usually the tiny house / environmentally conscious / etc. type folks, and mainly for waste disposal into compost buckets
they usually don't have a stylish house and then a compost bucket instead of a toilet though
uuuh this one site gardenofshadows had a ton of mods like that but i think they still have a hard-on for sims 2 and think every game after pales in comparison so.....

I remember how much fun I had on Sims 2. Agreed that Sims 3 went too hard on the Cashgrab. Sims 4 haven't tried yet.

On Sims 3 I buy a Dumpster for 750 and literally just do that. Work is nice but if you manage to rummage a Computer or TV out of the dumpster you save yourself so much time.
You puke after awhile though and when you invite company over they're like "HOW THE FUCK DID THIS DUMPSTER GET INTO YOUR HOUSE YOUR DOORS AREN'T EVEN THAT BIG"
you can rummage random other people's shit out of a dumpster that no one but you has access to? amazing.
they should worship that dumpster for it is magic
Yup, its a magic dumpster. You can decorate your entire house with stuff you find in it. Bugs, Junk, and actual trash sometimes pop up, but then you can bring that stuff to you little garbage can outside.
To be honest, I feel like the bills BARELY play a role in the game. Once you get a job you have EVERYTHING covered.
Compared to real life where they eat 50% of your pay.
Wasn't Tools doing some multi-generational Sims epic about a family of dumpster divers?
Aye, my lovely Bindivers. I've sadly lost the save file, but I got to the third gen before losing my game. I blame Reaper, the only girl in the third gen. She was named after the Grim Reaper, and she crashed my game.
hyperrealistic eyes and lips should not be mixed with hair that belongs on a paper doll from the early aughts and face skin textures that look like they haven't finished loading
is it just me or does anyone else feel that those images look strange but not unrealistic (in contrast to Yarrun's comment about "skin textures that look like they haven't finished loading")?
Well like, the skin textures really are very noticeably low-res (especially on the nose and around the mouth) compared to the eye textures and the hair is modeled/textured like stylized anime hair.
That said I have modded Skyrim enough to not be fazed by it.
