You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I might as well take a crack at some of these.
Billy Joel - "We Didn't Start The Fire" seems like the one you're most likely to know.
Des'ree ("You Gotta Be") and Daniel Powter ("Bad Day") were basically one-hit wonders so that's pretty easy.
Survivor is almost certainly "Eye of the Tiger", since that's their most iconic song and is featured in lots of media.

somehow they -- and you -- have altogether named a bunch of songs whose names I recognize but whose music I can't bring to mind, and for which I can't think of an artist name (aside from being informed now that it's Gwen Stefani), but at some point i figured out that Sweet Escape is a Gwen Stefani song
(I actually dislike it, but I think it helped to allow me to know what to talk about when I was referring to it playing all the darn time on the radio)
KT Tunstall's got to be either Black Horse and the Cherry Tree or Suddenly I See.
I dig the latter. Makes me think of Thrillville 2.
I love the latter song, and that's the one, and incidentally it actually helped me notice the pattern that I now call the "J-pop progression" (i.e. IV V iii vi), despite it not being J-pop (though it has two notable sections of the song with that progression).
But you've reminded me that I actually do recognize Black Horse and the Cherry Tree, so props.
Bon Jovi is "Livin' on a Prayer" and something else Eurhythmics is "Sweet Dreams" R. Kelly is "Trapped in the Closet," all 800 parts, especially the part with the midget.
Bon Jovi is "Livin' on a Prayer" and something else - Yes Eurhythmics is "Sweet Dreams" - Yes R. Kelly is "Trapped in the Closet," all 800 parts, especially the part with the midget. - No
Dragostea din Tei is the original song, but then the meme collab is actually something called "New Numa" that they did with Gary Brolsma (the guy arm-pumping in his chair), which unfortunately didn't really get anywhere.
I don't think New Numa was technically by O-Zone, just one of its members.
Later that same member had a solo career and Gary Brolsma made a third Numa Numa video based on one of his singles, which went even less anywhere than the second one. (The song being in English made it kinda weird for one thing.)
Comments
For Jonathan Coulton, it's Still Alive (the Portal ED) and Code Monkey.
Belinda Carlisle - "Heaven is a Place on Earth"
Europe - "The Final Countdown"
Cyndi Lauper - "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" "Time After Time"
Buggles - "Video Killed the Radio Star"
Eagles - "Hotel California"
Talk Talk - "It's My Life"
Coolio - "Gangsta's Paradise"
WOO HOO
YEE HOO

That's the one
Rolling Stones: Paint It Black, Get Off of My Cloud, or Ruby Tuesday
Styx: Come Sail Away
Also, I forgot I knew that Styx song, so now that's a 2.
I dig the latter. Makes me think of Thrillville 2.
I had a phase where I'd just repeatedly play the music video from Yahoo so it's very special to me.
But you've reminded me that I actually do recognize Black Horse and the Cherry Tree, so props. And it is.

ATC - "Around the World"
Weezer - "Buddy Holly"
Coldplay - "Clocks" I hope because it's the only song of theirs I like

The Within Temptation song may be a little obscure. I did give a hint earlier if you want to look it up.
