  Just to lay it on thick:
  Interstate 10 actually does go coast-to-coast, from Santa Monica, California to Jacksonville, Florida. It has nearly a thousand miles of length within Texas alone. The segment west of Texas, and the segment east of Texas, are each almost as long as the segment in Texas.
