Well main problem these days is that it's just quite crowded with people and traffic.
You can definitely feel the bustle of center-city NYC, and there are tons of advertisements everywhere, but the important thing is that if you know where you need to go, you can easily go through Times Square, and there's a lot of transportation options serving it.
It's not a hugely great place for tourism though. A few snapshots and that's it. I guess you could patronize one of the fifty million restaurants in the area if you wanted to.
For a time they had upright pianos placed out in the open, outdoors, for people to do impromptu concerts on them whenever they wanted to. I appreciated that, even though that didn't exactly do good things to the condition of said pianos, but then again, they were already painted millions of different colors in the first place anyway.
