i . . . suppose most people just kinda watch shows and couldn't care less about the networks they're on?
like if a network no longer had any shows i wanted to see, i imagine i'd just stop watching and not be bothered by it because my attachment was to the shows, not the network

networks are like, the faceless transmission husk for the good stuff
that's normal, yeah, but that doesn't mean their role isn't important or that it's wrong to be interested in their operations. because those operations influence what you're going to see.
I say, because I keep track of publishers and anthology magazines, which are analogous.
with record labels it varies, you get some that people care about because there's some continuity or at least clear relation between the records they output, and then there's others that are just like these big amorphous faceless entities releasing whatever
Earache is weird because they really helped pioneer grindcore and death metal, incredible back catalogue
and nowadays they sign like some of the most atrocious deathcore and metalcore?
BUT they are very dedicated to keeping their back catalogue available, and they do things like remasters that actually go out of their way to have good dynamic range
which is rare in metal, which has severe loudness war issues
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
One of the things I always found weird about GF was the fact that Mabel never seemed interested in all the paranormal stuff. Dipper's obsessed with it, but Mabel barely cares about it

actually, ime people tend to care more about networks than they do publishers, at least where fiction books are concerned
