Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I know the Times New Roman clocks are supposed to be generic, but I like them for some reason.
That last clock reminded me of the clock in one of the science labs at my school. It does the same thing: spelling out the hours instead of having numbers.

(Reposting because of the page break and that stupid glitch)
It's been so long since I've done one of these that I actually had to go around with a pad of sticky notes and mark which clocks I've already posted so I don't end up with duplicates...you'll actually be able to see them in a couple of these photos. :P
Now the bad news: After this post, there are only four clocks left on my wall I haven't shown off yet. Don't worry, though, because after that I plan to do a bonus post with the clocks elsewhere in my house!

I have at least three of the TNR ones because they're only like $4 or $5 at Target, most of the time.
The clock with the hours spelled out was a Christmas gift from my sister a couple years back. She picked it out specifically because she thought it was ugly. :P
>(Reposting because of the page break and that stupid glitch) Thank you. *irritated by glitch*
The last clock was fun.
I've never been all that keen on TNR but I think it looks surprisingly good on clock faces, I guess because it looks so serious. The plastic bezel offsets it and it kinda works.

Well, I've been avoiding finishing this for a while now, because I was so embarrassed that I've put it off for so long, but hey, I'm bored, so I might as well go for it anyway. >_>
Well, that's all the clocks I've got. I know some people expressed an interest in seeing some of the other junk I have around my room, so next time I'll share some of that!

Because we've known each other, at least to some extent, for like 3 years, and only in the past year and a half or so have I been actively referring to myself as female.

So, here is the thrift store purchase I mentioned yesterday.
For like two years now, I've wanted an old-fashioned flip clock--one of those analog clocks that gives a numeric readout like a digital clock.
Here's another angle, albeit slightly blurrier. It's in really good condition, considering its age--it keeps the time just fine, its alarm functions--the only thing that seems broken is, well...the "lighted dial" doesn't light up. But that's not all that surprising, considering it's old enough that it was probably lit by an incandescent bulb, and those don't last forever.

I've long wanted a nixie tube clock, but like spinor said, that stuff is expensive. I'd like to have one someday--what clock collection would be complete without one?--but I can't justify spending money on one right now.
As an aside: I had no idea what nixie tubes were until Monsters, Inc.
That one with the bent-down second hand...did you scratch up the cover by trying to open and fix it?
The "generic" clock is actually not very generic because of its black-and-silver design. It could be more generic; it could be a black-markings-on-white-background IKEA-style clock.
Clock plastic is really hard to keep together for some reason. Though at home we have some long-lasting clocks, at least one of whose aesthetic pleasantness is sustained with plastic tape.
That Wheel of Fortune clock seems so random in its distribution of labels. Should have done something like 100 to 900 and then Lose a Turn, Bankrupt, and Free Spin for 10, 11, and 12.
Whoa, that Homestuck clock...does not like being handled, considering its spinyness.
I like pendulum clocks...but ones that run a pendulum by battery are inelegant and a waste of electricity, in my opinion.
BENRUS glass clock is nice-looking, but I wouldn't get it because easy to shatter. Looks very professional though.
GE electric clock looks awesome.
Cute Equity table clock is cute. Looks like I'd like it more than my current bedside clock.
Orange-ring clock with unusual font is pretty cool.
"no real story" clock...is that wood or plastic?
These TNR clocks are kinda nice for having a ring with second counts on them. Other than that, very plain.
I'd hang up the pink one here in my cubicle. That distinctive color would at least add some flavor.
Spelled-out hours clock: You need to tilt it a bit to the right so that all the words' downward vectors actually point downward (even if at least ever so slightly). Right now, SIX and TWELVE point slightly upward. The "balance point" with the most downwardness is somewhere between FIVE and SIX being the bottom.
Federal clock looks nice, but the curved top makes it less useful as a platform for other things, in contrast to, say, the GE mechanical-digital non-hinged flip clock.
I'd get the Gnarly Nursing Home Green clock only because Gnarly Nursing Home Green.
Grey sand clock is stylish but useless because no numbers.
Snowy brook clock is really hard to see.
Lighted Dial General Electric clock is AWESOME.
And I'd totally take that IBM School Clock but it's EXPENSIVE.
Re Nixie Tube Clocks: I have the speakers shown in the background of one of those pictures.
Now I feel like stopping by the Goodwill in town just to see what they have.

^^ Yes, given to me by various people over the years. And they're all long-expired, or else I wouldn't have posted them.
