        This is on the Japanese Wikipedia page for Ultraman, presumably because Japanese copyright/trademark law is stricter and an actual screenshot from the series would be legally difficult

        I believe the Japanese Wikipedia is one of the ones that specifically does not allow “fair use” images, probably for the reasons you mentioned

        They used to use cosplay photos on some of the character pages, though they seem to have cracked down on that, presumably after realizing the character designs themselves are still under copyright even if the photos themselves are not
