    I think part of the problem was that the country wasn't so much looking for "a good leader with a record of being effective" as it was looking for "a hero".

    Unfortunately we might have instead elected "an hero".

    martin o'malley was exceptionally generic as a politician.  also he was really cool with incarceration, like, exceptionally so, which burned him when blm was happening at the same time; also who would want a slightly more left guy than hillary clinton when there's bernie
