An animation studio with a rather depressing history: Nelvana began in 1971 as a somewhat ambitious studio whose fortunes took a turn for the worse when 1986's Rock & Rule did not recoup its costs. Thus, the studio turned to less ambitious work for television. In 2000, it was acquired by Corus Entertainment and now seems to be more miserable than it was before.
