The Swarm has got to be one of the best villains to come out of the comics medium. He was a scientist in the Nazi Party who, experimenting with radioactive mutant bees, was devoured by them. Somehow, this transferred his consciousness to the swarm. So he's literally a hive of bees who believe in National Socialism. Why bees would feel passionately about human racial distinctions is not clear! However, he builds giant robot bees to do tasks for him, and that makes it all better.

perhaps the bees like national socialism because it reminds them of how their hive is structured and they want to spread the joys of bee society to the human beeings of earth?

I thought that this was going to be about that one time in Africa in, like, WWII, where the british troops did something, I guess, and it bothered the African Bees and then hilarity most definitely did not ensue.

Like, the battle of Spanga or something.
