Tom Clancy's dead

Guess those damn Russkies did get him in the end, huh...

  • Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
If by "Russkies" you mean illness, then yeah. The Russkies killed him.
  • I kid. I kid. I don't like the "kill people America doesn't like" slant his books took, but it's really a shame whenever an author dies.

I remember having fun with Splinter Cell (which admittedly isn't as good as MGS, but eh)
  • Charming all around.
  • "It is a matter of grave importance that Fairy tales should be respected.... Whosoever alters them to suit his own opinions, whatever they are, is guilty, to our thinking, of an act of presumption, and appropriates to himself what does not belong to him." -- Charles Dickens
Sad. I never read one of his books, but who hasn't seen The Hunt for Red October?
  • Splinter Cell doesn't really have anything to do with Tom Clancy the person.
  • More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.

    Aw, no!

    I loved Clancy's books!

They turned a cousin of mine, cousin asifo;ej;oiej;saoij; (not his real name) from a very poor reader who never really liked books all that much into an avid reader.  Many readers have that one book that just clicked with them on the most basic level; the thing that got them into reading (for my brother, it was Cam Janson). For my cousin asifo;ej;oiej;saoij;, it was The Hunt for Red October.  Said cousin asifo;ej;oiej;saoij; really loved submarines, and well, this story by Clancy was really the perfect book for him.  Then asifo;ej;oiej;saoij; read the other books by Clancy, and then he started on other books, and he became an avid reader.
  • I wonder what the last book actually written by Tom Clancy was.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
Tried to read one of his books once, couldn't get into it.

But if he got cousin asifo;ej;oiej;saoij; into reading then good on him.
  • So when can I expect this new book?
