So, Scooby-Doo is to Great Danes as Seabiscuit is to Thoroughbreds.

Drat, now I want a Hanna-Barbera cartoon series about 1930s horse racing, with old-timey radio announcer voices and cornball puns.

And also, now I'm wondering what the Scooby-Doo equivalent would be for other breeds of dogs, or for cats.

A Very Chef & Waiterman Christmas
  • So I caved in and bought the Spyro Reignited Trilogy of the PSN.

I was dithering a lot about it, and finally decided to get it when I thought "You know, it's a full remaster of the classic Insomniac trilogy, and it's only £34.99. Fuck it."

Now to just wait to see how long it takes to install.
  • Gotta love the slow arse downloading times. Even my fast-ish internet speed isn't helping.

If your PS4 is wireless, that's because the PS4's wireless is garbage.
  • image Wee yea erra chs hymmnos mea.
(If you have PS+, it'll download faster in rest mode.)
  • Yeah, it is wireless. There is a wi-fi extension thing on the landing next to my room (because my room is above the garage and thus gets no wi-fi signal normally) but I don't have a cable long enough to hook the things up.

As for PS+... I'm not really an online gamer, so signing up for a £6.99 monthly membership just to get a game to download faster is a bit daft.
  • I can wait. I once waited two weeks for Dragon Age Inquisition to install.

I'll just play Skyrim for the umpteenth time again.

You should try Daggerfall.  It's clunky and weird, but it can legally be downloaded for free, along with Arena.  Also, it's the Elder Scrolls game with the most different outfits, which is cool.

I like to head-canon that my characters from Arena and Daggerfall got married and are the parents of my characters from Morrowind and Oblivion (I've never played Skyrim, but presumably if I did, my character would be a descendant of that heroic Argonian lineage).
  • Well, there is 12 hours left of downloading time, which means I could be easily playing it by tomorrow. However, I don't like leaving my PS4 on overnight, because I am always afraid that it was burst into flames, even if it is meant to be left on rest mode.

It's hard to choose between Scotsman Roy and Ed Ike.
  • So, a couple of days ago I fell down the stairs after treading on the cat that was napping on the stair below the landing (which I was not aware of). The bruise I have on my leg where I landed is now a deep purple.

    It’s also sore as fuck.

    Congratulations to your family.

Make sure to get the baby a PKU test with a day or two, as well as to test for Galactosemia, Tyrosinemia, Biotinidase deficiency, toxoplasmosis, and all the other terrifying-baby-problems-that-can-be-solved-if-you-find-it-within-48-hours.

Also remember to take photographs and weird-and-slightly-embarrassing-measurements of small baby.  Most random people don't let you sneak into the hospital and take measurements of their neonates, but then 20 years later they're all like,  "dang, I can't remember what my daughter's head circumference was when she was born.  If only someone had remembered to do such things."

Also, 12-27-18 is very divisible by 3.  This pleases me.

    Also, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

I played a bit at work during my breaks. Tbh, the only reason I bought the Switch was because of the new Fire Emblem game coming out. But SSBU is fun enough to play.

I also want Breath of the Wild.
