...video games! This is the thread for them!

I've gotten back into the habit of playing demos recently. I wish more companies would release demos, but they're probably afraid of the audience wising up.

Take, for example, Asura's Wrath. I'm not big into action games (Jedi Knight was pretty much it for me), but I was really digging the aesthetics and the over-the-topness of Asura's Wrath. Then I played the demo. Hey there, quick-time events! Didn't see you come in...granted, the demo was two boss fights, but it didn't feel like a game. Heck, the QTEs didn't even feel like they were doing anything. I'll go back to admiring the screenshots from afar, thanks. See you in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Ultra Remix, Asura.

The other demo I played today was The Darkness 2. I haven't read the comics or played the first game, but I dig the idea. Reminds me of Spawn, but not as '90s, and with more potential. I should have turned it off the second I saw it had cel-shaded graphics. I don't know if it's a law that all cel-shaded FPSes have to have lazy animation and a puerile sense of humor (Hey, that demon farted, and now he's peeing on a corpse! Neat) but, by God, The Darkness 2 is pushin' that bill through Congress like there's no tomorrow.

Lately, the TV has been occupied and I've been a bit busy with school, so I haven't been playing many video games lately.

I do play video games besides Pokémon, though. Got The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword as a Christmas present and enjoyed it so far. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at it. My hand-eye coordination is a bit shaky.

I was thinking about getting the Shin Megami Tensei games for PSP, but I heard one of them actually really sucks, but I don't know which one that is.

I've been thinking about getting more games for my 3DS, but I'm a little short on money right now. Right now, I've got Zelda Ocarina of Time and Pokémon Rumble Blast.

Out of the games I know are currently out, I'm most interested in Mario Kart 7. Mario 3D Land also looks pretty interesting.

Crisis Core is very nice. I like the music.

So far I am lost in Yume Nikki. I went through the door with eyes, walked past the infirmary and got caught by one of the gwyllions, sent to the red labyrinth.

How do I know if I won Yume Nikki? What's the general goal I can aim towards before I decide to browse the wiki and spoil all the secrets?

If this isn't too much of a spoiler, you need to get all of Madotsuki's abilities before you get the ending. After that, I think it's just exploring and stuff.

Suddenly, I'm thinking about Megaman a lot. I haven't played that in a while. My favorite "subseries" is Battle Network, with my second favorite being the classic series. Unfortunately, my Battle Network 3 cartridge no longer works for some reason.

I wish there was a Steam-related version. Think of the fun to be had with Custom Map sharing, modded servers and 8v8 games spanning maps larger than 256x256.

I've seen Advance Wars. Looks pretty cool. I don't think I'd be very good at it, though. I'm always a little too impatient when it comes to strategy games.

I just tried out Looming. I've got all the artifacts and 5 of the portals so far.

The setting has very interesting backstory. Though me being the monster maniac that I am, I'm most curious about (if this doesn't spoil too much) the Oarbor.

Watching a Let's Play of Megaman Battle Network makes me really want to play Battle Network 3 again, but

my ... cartridge no longer works for some reason.

I'm also curious about the Megaman Starforce games. I figure since I like Battle Network, I'll like that series too.
