The Beach City Bovine Empire was one of the lesser-known and shorter-lived civilizations of the 21st century.  Scholars cite a rather short and ineffectual constitution, bereft of delineation of rights and duties, as contributing to its ultimate instability and catastrophic economic collapse at the merciless hooves of an overprivileged oligarchy.  Other factors include general illiteracy among the populace and a poor diet with far too much fiber.

Scholars agree that they did, however, make delicious cheeseburgers.
