Inaccurate tags

So the mod team has noticed some inaccurate tags being very popular on here. We know this is supposed to be a fun forum, but keep your tags accurate, please, as the tag system works in lieu of Vanilla's unreliable search feature.

Well we noticed the prominence of that tag ("gaydeer" and "gay_deer" are, as of now, applied to over sixty threads, most of which have nothing to do with gay deer) and decided that we should advise against that sort of thing.

It would be accurate for those threads, but not many others.

I think it's more of a "made by MV" kind of tag as opposed to what the topic is about, kind of like my "Vorping" tag that appeared on like 2 threads.

It lessens the usefulness of the tag feature. This might be less of an issue if the search function wasn't so useless in vanilla forums.

This doesn't mean you can't make silly tags. Lord knows I make plenty. We're mostly addressing people taging every thread they make with something that has nothing to do with the thread.

I'll be cleaning up the tags over the next few days. I'll try to be careful not to clean out the ones that are actually relevant, as I recognize the "gay-dear" tag is appropriate in some cases. However, we don't need two and we certainly don't have 60+ threads on the topic.

I politely request people don't re-add the tags I remove or spam the fora with threads on these topics solely to keep the tag count up.

I have altered the tags, pray I don't alter them further.

People might notice I left a respectable amount of the gaydear tags. I left them where appropriate or where I just thought it was funny.

I consider this an acceptable level of tag abuse.

Soo... things are fined now, and nothing bad happened.... except for that part where I banned Gelzo.

Which is impressive considering I don't think I can actually do that with my level of permissions.

I love how the top tag is now "nonsense", which is totally applicable to every thread tagged with it.
