I'm confused as to how to distribute stats. What are the averages, maxes, etc.?

I know I'll be a female psychic named Violet or Violetta. That's about it, so far.

You get 64 points to distribute. You can't start with any stats below 6 or above 14. I think 10 is meant to be average for a human. And for your stat modifiers, it's +1 for every two points above 10, or -1 for every point below 10.

BTW, I'm probably going to sit in this campaign, though I won't play because I'm already in one.

Okay, then. I've got a basic character outline written down. All I have left is my motivation to go to Cherrygrove City.

Would it be all right if I went there to get my starter at an adoption event? I was planning on having my character come from Azalea Town, and that was the best reason I could think of at the moment to be in Cherrygrove.

I don't think there is a limit on age, provided it isn't something like an 80 year old

You scan Pokemon with your dex. It takes three rounds, or thirty seconds, in a battle

I still am not entirely sure what I want my starter to be. Currently entertaining both Litwick and Sableye.

I'm a bit less creative in terms of starters. I'm actually currently torn between Squirtle, Bulbasaur, or making Ekans or Buizel my starter and putting someone else in the vacant wish list slot. (By the way, Superglobe, if you haven't already, the rulebook suggests making a wishlist of 6 Pokémon you would want to get during the game.)

Also, where should I upload this file that isn't too public? I know I shouldn't be, but I'm a little paranoid of someone coming across it by accident.

I don't think it's required, it just kind of gives the GM an understanding of what kind of Pokémon you want.

You usually start out with a Pokedex from what I can tell, with no Pokemon previously scanned. Sort of a just got it recently thing

Gator: You could upload it on Dropbox if you want to get an account for this, or do a text version on Google Docs and allow only certain accounts to see it

Superglobe: The GM Guide mostly states the wishlist as a way to reward you guys with something other than items (although this doesn't necessarily mean you'd catch the Pokemon for certain)

It doesn't say how much money to start with, how to award you guys with it, etc. so assume the usual starting amount from the games (3000 Poke each), and I'll throw in 5 Pokeballs, 3 Potions, and an Antidote

Just an update for tonight: I am finished with the Word document detailing my character, and I have uploaded it to Dropbox. I'm still not sure how to link it here, though.

Also, I've revised it a little. I was originally just going to be uncreative and make a character based on myself and my favorite Pokémon, but I decided to save that for another campaign and make one that's similar to me in broad strokes, but has different interests and is less shy and awkward. Does that sound like a good idea?

^^^^^ If you have the application and the file is in your public folder, you can right click it, click... Dropbox, I think the option is? You'll have an option that isn't typically in the right click menues at any rate. Then you can select copy public link

^ Just a warning: Grass Ace is, if I recall correctly, a class that requires you to become a... Gah, I forget the exact class name but it requires 14 in both of your 8 stats, so you'd need four classes to achieve that layout which is impossible

I have no problems with it otherwise

Double-checking the multiclass requirements in the rulebook, it looks like I do need to raise Strength, but only up to 10. I didn't see anything about Dexterity. Taking that into account, though, I'll tweak it a bit.

Edit: Done. Strength is now 9 and Constitution is 10.

The Ace Trainer prerequisite means you have you make one of your classes Ace Trainer

^ Superglobe, you can't start out with a class at level 0. You can leave it there as, "I plan to take this class" though. So please remove the modifiers you got from the class

And I don't see the problem with that (especially since the class kind of says that Psychics are born with these powers...)

Well, I could make the adoption event go a bit longer, establish things a bit more and get some supplies to Gator that could be really helpful when you get back Super (A major plot point was pretty much planned for right after Gator got his Pokemon and bumped into your character, Super ^^;)
