Optimus Prime represents humanity's desire to succeed. His fire-truck form is a metaphor for the everyday heroism of ordinary people doing their jobs.

Megatron represents fear, which holds back humanity. He controls his minions through terror tactics, scare-mongering and the creation of a system which uses buzzwords like "fairness" and "equality" to create false hope.

Starscream represents anarchy and the problem with rebelling against time-tested, organized institutions. 

The final battle is a variation of the trolley dilemma, only involving giant robot dinosaurs and magical glowing alien boxes

I would actually like to tackle a Transformers thing that deals with the need to change to fit into society as a useful component.

I'm sure some comics have done it but I also want to do it.
