    taken near Visnjan, Croatia.

tolls are not a uniquely American annoyance it seems. This place must have a tourist industry, since a lot of these signs were in English as well as Croatian and Italian.

Pretty sure that's actually a border control checkpoint. :P

given the "PAY TOLL" signs nearby, and the fact that the town in question is not near the Croat-Slovene border, I'd have to disagree.

Vinjan is like, 30 minutes from the border, so. But eh, I ain't no Croatian, so *shrug*

I guessed Hyderabad unfortunately. I don't know the geography of the subcontinent that well.

it's interesting seeing a Buddha statue and an arch with King Edward VII on top of it in the same place.
  • actually now that I look at it again I'm not entirely sure if that's a Buddha statue at all (I know it's not Siddharta Guatama, but I thought it was the one heavier Buddha whose name escapes me right now)
  • this is the wrongest I've ever been about anything

Sorry, perhaps I'm being a bit too harsh

I am sorry, I was being a jerk. I really shouldn't have been so condescending.

maybe it should be obvious, i dunno

if somebody failed to recognize London or Paris i expect i'd be a bit incredulous

    can't know every city
  • i don't know if i'd recognize london without the help of a sign of some kind
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
    red double deckers

it depends where you are in London, really, in some parts there's like a famous landmark every few streets, but i don't know if i'd recognize residential London so easily

obviously i'm British so i shouldn't necessarily expect someone from another country to identify it

i'd consider the presence of K2s or black K6s a fairly strong clue but i don't know how many people would pick up on those
  • i thought red double-deckers were a general British thing.

    also i don't know what K2s and K6s are.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
    payphone kiosks

the iconic red British kind, when painted conventionally, with the dome on top

there are various features distinguishing a K2 from a K6, the most obvious being the number of windows
  • ah.

Don't get me wrong I don't mind being corrected. I'm sorry, Corvidium I'm just in an awful mood is all. It's not you.

I have pondered starting a GeoGuessr video series (it's one of maybe two games that wouldn't be adversely affected my computer's issues with capturing video, watch my Yume Nikki LPs if you don't know what I mean). Should I?

also that's sorta true about the red buses, or used to be, but they're a dying breed, and London is where you're most likely to see them these days, you know, for the tourists

that series sounds like it'd be fun

The last five rounds I got Brazil near Brasilia, near Hoting on Sweden (those two nice pictures), the South of Hokkaido in Japan, Houston in the USA, and the Canadian state of Yukon near the Alaskan border.
    I rank them: Sweden > Canada > Japan > USA > Brazil
