    It appears that large amounts of Germanium and Silicon have been smuggled into Rozburg by smugglers.

    Evidently, someone is trying to make use of electricity!

    Electricity is illegal in Rozburg.

    Magic is not done in Rozburg. Essentially, magic can work like an aquifer. Underground rivers = let lines. The grand aquifer of magic is being tapped by Centralia and other nations. Given the unsustainable use of magic, certain nations agreed to go magic-free or dam certain ley lines so as to get lots of power. These dams cut off the flow to certain areas, and flood certain areas with magic. Rozburg is magically flooded, using magic would be like setting a match in a lake of oil. To prevent too much buildup and breakage, there are drainage channels.

    Electricity weakens the thing that can, essentially, be called magic friction. With electricity, it is much easier to get a sequence to start. For example, it is easier to unintentionally start a transformation when around electricity (it still takes magic energy and power) and turn a rocking horse into a real horse.

    This is why electricity is illegal in Rozburg, to prevent a cataclysmic event.

    Instead of watching KLK, I decided to watch Gravity Falls.  I like the first two episodes, though, really, Dipper, that "buy cameras in bulk" idea is very good.  But there's no way that'll work in episode two.  You're the base state now, you see.  Maybe in a few seasons you'll be able to not lose cameras and have lots of cameras and be awesome, but nobody starts out as an Alakazam.

    Also, Mabel, your whole "adorable and crazy" thing is not annoying, but it could get that way. You were competent with a leaf blower in episode one; keep showing that there's more to your character than being a punchline.  This archetype is a very easy one to flanderize.

    Great-Uncle Stan, as much as I got absolutely nothing of your character from the first two episodes, I like how you're letting Dipper and Mabel and the wierdness take the stage.  Keep providing the safe place that most child fantasy needs (child fantasy has two words:  the normal, safe, mundane, stable, carefree, comforting one; and the exciting, terrifying, amazing, horrible, glorious, fantasy world.  Refuge from one is found in the other.  But, in the end, Madeline always ends up safe in the arms of Miss Clavel; and in Narnia and Castle in the Attic, the kids are able to return home.).  Thank you for providing your half of the child fantasy setting.

    Dipper's Hat is going to show up in a later episode, isn't it.  I'm calling it now.

    Also, seriously, why is there this guy who sounds like Patrick Starr and looks like Patrick Starr?  And this girl who hardly shows up?  I'm not sure if I want these two to be more fleshed out, or if I'm glad that the focus is actually on Dipper and Mabel's adventures.

    Also, Yay, book with the number three on it.  I like threes.

    <br/>  Yeah, he's funny, but I was worried he'd end up with some depth and drama, and sorry, some characters are best off being one-note.  I mean, there's not really all that much to Sam the Eagle except that he's amazingly patriotic and he hates everything.  Dick Dastardly shouldn't become some tortured soul or deeply fleshed-out character, that's not the point of him.

    I'm just excited for a show that seems to actually keep the focus on two kids exploring the supernatural and running around a small town.  In almost every Disney movie, the sidekicks and helpers steal the spotlight.  Everybody remembers the dwarfs more than Snow White.  I like it when a show can actually focus on its real leads.

    At least the good guys have the old unfinished book (which was missing stuff like the weakness of gnomes).

    Let's hope Dipper's memory is good.

    I am the only one who likes copyright laws.  All rights reserved is a sacred phrase, meaining all rights reserved. 

    When a book says you cannot reproduce, copy, or show any part of it without written consent of the publisher, it goshadarn means it.

    I hate the public domain.  When I'm an author, I'm gonna work for Philomel and never let my works get into the greedy hands of the public domain.  I want Philomel to keep the rights forever.

    Also, authors deserve no more than ten-per cent of the money a book makes.  Publishers and editors are angels who deserve most of the money.  Same way that records labels deserve the vast majority of the money from music, not the original artists.

    I hate digital piracy and free information.  I hate happiness.  I hate nice things.

    My philosophy on humor is that it's not only the teaser/joker who gets to decide if it's all in good fun; but also the teased/audience, who decides that.  But it's a two-way thing.  In the end, we should try not to offend, and try not to be offended.  Give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and have goodwill towards people.  Have a thick skin, and try not to needle people who have thin skins

    In the end, just have fun.

    But yeah, that little whatever-it-was is over; and I will, in fact, be buying or renting Gravity Falls because I like the show.

    Okay, having found a dvd of season one, SIX STRANGE TALES, at the library.

    Okay, it's a tiny booklet in a pretty easy cryptogram text (with three empty pages at the back so you can write your own in it, but it's cool.  I wish I could buy a GF hat and look like this kid:

    Having Watched Episode five on the television with the dvd player, either wow, the art got a lot better and the animation got amazing, or I have a sucky screen and slight (yeah, slight) lag on the computer.

    Each episode seems to be better than the next, and gets me more hyped.

    Wow, GIrl WHo Hardly Appears, thanks for not humiliating Dipper by revealing the Lammy Lammy dance thing to your friends.  I was completely sure it'd end with him humiliated and the status quo kept.
