Neither am I. I hate it when I have an 8:30 or even 8 o'clock meeting. Stupid corporate world with it's set rules of when it's acceptable to be at work and how drunk you can be while doing work.

Fun fact: I can have alcohol in my system while working so long as I'm legal to drive still. It's in my handbook, it is!

Apparently I can be dragged off to some sort of test if I'm suspected of being drunk, but I'm not sure if we have some sort of hidden lab for catching the drunkies...

We have two buildings, one is four stories high, and the other five. Both take up about two city blocks. So we certainly have the room for such things.

Ulg, I remember working at a movie theatre and retail and I'd occasionally have sucky days like that.

It still happens now to some extent, but I'm sitting at a computer for all of it, so it's much more tolerable and my compensation makes it much more worth it.

Movie theater was a bit sucky in that it was minimum wage. I've talked to other people who work at theaters and this hasn't changed and seems to be nation wide.

I did get free movie passes for things that had been out a couple weeks and almost free soda and popcorn while working. So that was OK.

But you spent a great deal of time helping customers and the rest cleaning and you always smelt of popcorn by the end of the night.

Retail in this case was "Best Buy", I consider it a step-up. I got payed more, got small raises, didn't smell... I sold computers mostly. It was an...OK job. We got a discount that was "Most things at cost" which could be pretty fantastic at times.

I basically turned down a manager position to work in San Diego and get some training in databases and BI. Considering how much money I make off that gig, I don't really regret it.

Plus I'd still be living in Central Washington with it's lack of ethnic specialty stores, most likely.

...weirdly, when I think of work I don't really think of the pay as much as the job itself.

This may change when the time to look for a job comes.

My job AND pay is pretty awesome.

All of my jobs have pretty much been a step up in how much I get payed and how great they are.
