WHEN NOSTALGIA GOES WRONG

So, I'm just sitting here, watching old videos of Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (specifically of everyone's fatalities being performed on Hsu Hao and Mavado, because seriously, is there any way any other character could be as lame as either of them [excluding every character introduced in Deception, that bunch of useless bitches, especially Kobra, HE'S JUST AN EVIL, ANNOYING, NOT COOL VERSION OF KEN FROM STREET FIGHTER, WHO THE HELL THOUGHT HE WAS A GOOD IDEA]), and I'm just now realizing just how shoddy and terrible and over-the-top the fatalities (and graphics in general) were. On one hand, it's seriously cringeworthy realizing just how mediocre it was, but on the other hand, OH MY GOD THE MEMORIES, THE SWEET, PRECIOUS MEMORIES.

So, anyone else have stories of nostalgia gone horribly, horribly wrong (or just something relating to nostalgia in general)?
