i will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
...they still do for me.
Sometimes they refuse to, but mostly they do preload. As far as I can tell.

Youtube doesn't retain the video data that you've already got loaded and watched. When you want to rewatch it, it goes back to the server to look for it.
