So. Basically, this is that tech wishlist thread.

I'm not setting the rules or anything up (I'll leave the mods to edit this to add some) but at the very least try not to be ridonkulous.

    Also, if possible, could we replace the default favicon with an HH one? I made one already.

    Seriously, there's probably a Vanilla plugin that does it. It'd certainly be easier than trying to hack the application itself to do it! If AU and CA don't come up with something overnight, I can look once i'm up.

    And yes, I did go and look up Pinkie Pie's RGB values for that joke. #yntkt

    Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
    My only issue with it is that it might be difficult to see against the blue background of your own posts. But it is a fairly brighter color than that, so this is more of a minor nitpick than anything.

    There should be a "Quote" option next to "Flag" by the post date/time.

    The favicon should be working now, too. Vanilla wants it in PNG, but that's a one-liner once ImageMagick is installed:

    @Lee: Quick question: when I quote most people, I get the new style with the name and blue background, but when I quote anyone with spaces in their handle (including myself and Imi) I get a plain yellow blockquote.

    Any idea what's up with that or if it could be fixed?

    No idea. I'll have to see what the plugin itself is doing. There's a newer version, but it's only for 2.1 alpha... :P

    Sometimes I wonder if having spaces in handles is a feature or a bug. You can't register an account with a space, but if an admin changes it later you can have all the spaces you want. It makes me wonder if some programmer just forgot to apply the same validation to changed usernames as to new accounts' usernames.

    It's possible, though I also admit I don't really know how that part of the code works. I need to get going (it's 5 yo midnight), so I'll check later.

    The question is this: Other than making the color change, does it cause issues?

    ...The username links come up 404s...looks like it assumes a shorter URL scheme than we have.

    That probably won't be too hard to fix, though.

    ^^ There's an addon that adds Spoiler: markup like you find on other forums. Makes a little hidey-clicky box thing. Not quite the same as a button, but close.

    Certainly suitable for hiding images/videos/other things that can't just be blacked out.

    ^ Vanilla used to offer a "Mark all as read" add-on, but I think they discontinued it because it didn't work properly...it would mark everything as read, but once somebody posted in a thread again all the posts you didn't actually read would be marked as new again. :\
