    Oh, I customize a lot of stuff on my computer, because Windows comes with a bunch of stuff enabled by default that I find annoying or intrusive. I also disable Cortana, for example.

    My only objection to disabling Windows Update is that it, y'know, compromises the security of your system.

    As for the automatic brightness thing, well...the only reason I turn that off is because it's visually distracting for the display brightness to be changing as I work on a task. It might make sense if I was using the laptop in an environment where the lighting could change often, but if I'm at my desk all day, it's just needlessly distracting.
