Does anyone know how to make Windows 10 start up faster?

Most of the time I just "Hibernate" my PC, but every once in a while I have to do a full restart and...it always takes a ridiculously long time to boot back into Windows afterwards, much of which is spend on a black screen with no indication that it's making any progress.

It wasn't always like this, and I don't know what changed.

Note that enabling "Fast Startup" or whatever it's called won't help in this scenario, since that's basically just a variation on "Hibernate" and wouldn't apply when I, for example, restart after updating a driver.

Any ideas?

What kind of machine is it, and does it have a magnetic disc or an SSD?

It's an Asus laptop, and it has a magnetic disc

it could be a bunch of things, but I'd check for excessive things running at startup and the general health of the disk. it seems like laptop drives have gotten slower over the years, oddly.
