The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

The world is in peril. There exists an invisible threat so dire, so malicious, that no one man can stop it. Humanity cowers on the brink as governments squabble, praying it will go away. It will not. Gentlemen, the world must be saved.

The League must return.

  • The sadness will last forever.

I thought this was about the Alan Moore comic. It's not? Awww. :(

  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I want Inspector Gadget in on it, too.

It's about the concept he started.

I still need to read more of that comic. I read the first two volumes, I believe.

Then I found out Alan Moore wrote a porn comic and was like "huh" and then I read it and was like "huh".

It's about a buncha real bad '80s and '90s shows. I mean, look at those. NIGHT MAN.

I've not read a ton of the newer volumes of LXG (I call it that because I like the movie, don't judge me) but what I have read contains enough sex to be mistaken for Alan Moore's porn comic.

That's one of the things I didn't like about what I've read; too much sex, and it feels gratuitous. I'm also weirded out by the comic's tone; sometimes I feel like it's a bizarro, ultraviolent version of Hark! A Vagrant.

There does seem to be some "Craptatic" undertones to the whole thing.

  • Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I'm not entirely sure why the Night Man theme had such loud and energetic sax music. I'm torn between finding it catchy and out-of-place.

My favorite thing about Night Man is that he has a hologram of himself playing the sax in front of his window.

    NIGHT MAN.
