i'm coping with the fact i wasn't able to make it to the wedding and also i know nothing about idolmaster. inb4 'wow aren't these assessments largely basely on western stereotypes of female homosexuality' yep sure are HERE WE GO

alright so from what i understand makoto is one of the OG idolmaster girls so i'm starting off with her. makoto has a lot of good soft butch looks but i chose this card specifically because it brought to mind the takarazuka revenue (which if you don't know is an all-female musical troupe famous for their crossdressing) and like, hold up i just googled takarazuka for reference and apparently they did a japanese version of chicago what the fuck that's amazing

okay this girl is making a lot of bold fashion choices and i respect that. you got the undercut, the makeup, and the piercings juxtaposed with a relatively tame jacket and trousers and then you have those cellphone charms and pink nails?? innovative. a futch icon

i got gay vibes from this and i was like 'hm, idk why, there's nothing really outstandingly gay about this' but then i ventured farther into this girl's character art and

my gaydar works even in fiction

a v good lazy butch into weird shit who needs to be protected. look at those bags and staying in all day clothes. how did she become an idol.

this card is the reason i made this list. it's like they made a challenge to put as many lesbian tells as possible in one character. you got the butch haircut, the sporty swimwear, and RAINBOW ACCESSORIES, specifically the rubber/plastic/idk the material kind which a lot of gay girls i know like for some reason? anyway she's an all around good, gay girl.

I can explain the rarity question okay so:

All the girls will usually have cards ranging form Normal to at least Super Rare, and I think most of them will have at least one Super Super Rare card but that is a thing that's exclusively in the rhythm game spinoff of Cinderella Girls, Starlight Stage. The + sign after the rarity means you have idolized or transformed the card, and its sort of a leveled up version of a previous card. Usually the unidolized version will have the character doing something before the event a card is associated happens, and the idolized version will be them during.

So, while it is the case that the rarity levels mostly just describe how hard it is to get a card in Gacha (normals being more common than dirt and SSRs being a fucking distant golden shining Relic Natsuki please grace me with your presence why have you abandoned me), and I can't speak for the original Cinderella Girls game, in Starlight Stage (the much better rhythm game spinoff), the rarity levels describe how powerful the cards are mechanically. I think the higher-rarity cards will have higher Dance, Vocal and Visual stats, as well as more powerful skills. And also they just gain points way way faster (something thats super obnoxious in competitive events).

Super Super Rare cards also have a very specific aspect of them in Starlight Stage, that being that if you use one in a song, the idol in the MV on the screen will be wearing the outfit displayed on the card.

This structure is shared among all the idolmaster mobile games. I'm fairly certain Million Live and Million Live: Theatre Days have the same basic structure from what I can guess (haven't been able to get Theatre Days yet). And SideM has most of that except SSRs of course, and we can only assume that SideM: Live on Stage is GOING to? Though details about that game are due in a week and the structure of the game might be different because SideM has a different structure than Cinderella Girls (namely that all the idol boys seem to be wearing their own adorable outfits from the beginning).

There are three two idolmaster anime series at the moment, with a third one announced to come out at least by October of this year (the sideM anime).

The second one, the 2011 anime, is really fuckken good and probably one of the best idol anime series made if you give it the chance to get on its feet after the first few episodes are done. Its animation isn't the smoothest or most on-model, but you can tell how much love and care the creators of it had for this series, and the writing is, while a little cheesey, also really really good.

The third anime series, the Cinderella Girls anime, was....... okay. For an idol anime, for an idolmaster anime it was kind of majorly disappointing since its ending kind of fucked up its major themes and premise for the safer ending. Still, had its moments, like creating MikuRiina as a ship which is still my fave CG pairing to this day because of that one dang episode.

The first anime doesn't exist. Don't watch Xenoglossia.
