I like the song "Africa" by Toto, but

The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti

Is a real misfire of a last line there

Like, you're comparing a tall mountain to a tall mountain

  • And they didn't even use Denali.
  • “And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.” – Roald Dahl
It's also kind of weird because Kilimanjaro is significantly taller than Olympus, too
  • Olympus is more than just a mountain
  • Oh Africa, Brave Africa was a laugh riot.
  • Hope will exist in a problematic relationship with reason

Olympus is more than just a mountain

yeah, i kinda read the line as "this regular mountain feels like this thing from myth and legend (which is also a real mountain in the world)"
  • Whate'er is born of mortal birth/Must be consumèd with the earth,
To rise from generation free:/Then what have I to do with thee?
That is what it means, it's just kinda awkward and tryhard?
  • The line is slightly awkward but honestly who cares that much
  • Whate'er is born of mortal birth/Must be consumèd with the earth,
To rise from generation free:/Then what have I to do with thee?
If I cannot explain about extremely minor irritations in life, then we are no longer a free country
  • I'm sorry but I hate your freedom, it's nothing personal
